2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take
-
I have recently purchased a unit near Yishun central but it is still under construction and the project completion date is Q3 2013 while TOP date given is Q3 2014. And i will be using the future address during registration. I am new to Yishun estate so I am struggling trying to get more info on the other neighbouring schools other than the top schools like Chongfu and Northland, yet those info r quite limited.
Based on distance within 1km, there there 3 school options:
a) Northland Pri (being the popular one)
b) Northview Pri
c) Huamin Pri (nearest to my furture address)
After anaylsing the enrollement history and do correct me if I am wrong… I somehow think that i should try Northland under 2C (within 1km), and if I don’t get lucky to get a place, I can still fall back on Northview or Huamin for 2C sup since they were never over-applied. Is my strategy correct?
From the data found in this website, in past years Northland conducts ballot for 2C(within 1km) and I am really not sure what r the chances…
Not sure if anyone here can give some advise on Huamin VS Northview?
My hubby and my family especially my old folks said just go for the nearest one will do cos they think that a kid can study one sure can do it…if kid cannot study go good school also no use…but i should at least check out the school environment right since all within 1 km.
TQ ar! -

Your old folks are right. The advantage of proximity is good when the kids need to stay back frequently for extra activities.

You are right too. While it makes minor(depend on your luck and expectations too) difference which school so long the kid can study, it makes a difference if academic is not your main and only concern. Some parents based their choices on behavior of majority of students , character development or special programs , cca options etc. -
Hi Jedamum,
Thanks alot. The dates are drawing near and am starting to get paraniod(can’t help it and am so frustrated w myself)…
I should just try to reassure myself and be confident about the choice I will made in time to come. -
Hi there,
For the forthcoming P1 registration starting in Jul, are we expecting some forms from the preschool? or through mail? or we just go down to the school of choice with all the documents on the day of registration?
cant believe it's just 2 weeks away! :xedfingers:
Apologies if this question has been asked in previous pages. -

Registration Procedures
Parents registering their children under Phase 1 may submit the registration form and relevant documents through the older sibling who will be given the form by the school. For registration under Phase 2A(1) to Phase 3, a parent or a person authorised by the parent in writing is to submit the registration form and relevant documents at the school of choice. Each child should be registered at only one school at any one time. If the child is registered at more than one school, he may lose his place in the school of choice.
International students who were born between 2 January 2006 and 1 January 2007 may apply to the school of choice during Phase 3 of the 2012 Primary One Registration Exercise for admission to Primary One in January 2013. -
Hi Champion,
If i am registering under phase 2A(1) to Phase 3, where do i get the registration form? Will it be given on the day of registration ie at the school or will we get the form beforehand so we can complete the form at home then bring it along with the relevant docs?
Thanks!! -
You will get the form at the school. The form will be stamped with the school’s name , so you cannot use it for another school.

Balloting in most schools is held on the results announcement date, i.e. 07 Aug.registeration for P2C is 30, 31 july and 1 aug.
result announcement is 7 aug...
if there is ballot, it will be after 7 aug?
and why there is announcement of result after 1 week? tot after 1 aug will know if there is ballot?
You will only know whether you need to go for balloting or not at the end of the third day. However, for those who need to go through balloting, they will only know whether they can get into the schools on the day the balloting is conducted. -
Thank you Champion and Bigdevil for the information.
