      Nebbermind:
      notfreemom:

Please help! Why the weight will move to pole Y but not X?

      Thanks
      http://i48.tinypic.com/11wdpvq.jpg\">

Perhaps the wire will extend/expand due to the heating and sag....and the weight will slide towards the midpoint between the 2 poles, ie, towards Y

My assumption is similar to Nebbermind.

There are a few steps in ensuring that a child will be able to get the correct answers for MCQ science.

        Firstly
The child needs to have a strong grasp on the concepts. This is somehow non-negotiable. Without having a grasp on the concepts, the child will not be able to draw any information from his/her memory bank.

        Secondly
Read the question carefully/slowly while taking note of the terms being used. These words/terms will click with the concept to the various topics. Once the link has been made to the concept, information retrieval could then be carried out.

        Thirdly
Go through the 4 options that has been given as answers. A common approach by students would be to look for the correct answer. However, most of the time, the options given are very similar and they are very close. What I would suggest would be to apply elimination strategy. Eliminate the options that is definitely wrong. By doing so, you will narrow down the number of options before arriving to the answer. Most students do not practice this but instead, they immediately try to find the correct answer.

These three steps look very basic but it is something that many students do not actively practice, especially step number three. Hopefully, this helps.

I not so sure, but I think that as there a lot of sunlight in summer, plant grow well, insect feed on plant's leave, as it grow well, it multiples faster soon during summer.

Hi, can someone help in following 2 questions:

Q1: Which of the following statements about the organism (a picture of a frog is shown) below are correct?

A: It has many cells of various shapes and sizes
B: It has cells which contain nuclei that pass hereditary materials down
πŸ˜„ It has different cells to carry out different functions
😧 Cell division takes place as it grows
E: It has some cells that are surrounded by cellulose walls

              (1) A,B and C only
              (2) A,B and D only
              (3) A,B,C and D only
              (4) A,C,D and E only

Answer key: (2). I thought the answer shoud be (3) since C is true?

Q2: Stephanie counted the number of plants and animals in her garden. Her findings are shown below:

Plants that grow on the ground : 10
Plants that grow on trees : 7
              Grasshoppers : 5
              Lime Butterflies : 6
Caterpillars of Lime Butterflies : 8

Based on above, which of the following statements are definitely true?

A: There are at least 3 populations of animals
B: There are more plants than animals in Stephanie’s garden
πŸ˜„ There are at least 2 populations of plants
😧 There is only one garden community

              (1) A only
              (2) B and C only
              (3) C and D only
              (4) A,C and D only

Answer key: (4). Should the answer be (3) since caterpillars of lime butterflies and lime butterflies should be counted as 1 population?

                      I have a question from 2011 Catholic High Prelim 2, question 41.

It came with a picture but I have no idea how to post picture. Nonetheless, the question is as follows:

Steve wanted to test the properties of water and air. He placed 2 balloons of the same types, one completely filled with air only and the other completely filled with water and placed them over a candle flame. He lit the candle and observed what happened.

he recorded the time take for the balloon to pop.
Set up A(the one filled with air): 2 sec
Set up B(the one filled with water): 200s

                      (a) What can you conclude about the property of water based on the experiment?(1 mark)
                      (b) Explain the difference in time taken for the balloons to pop.(2 marks)
Β© State a variable that he must keep constant to conduct a fair test.(1 mark)
