Wow! Congrats :celebrate: ...so tell me. How did the interview go? You have 2 girls going to P4 next year? Is this the first time you are trying for SCGS?
Lilo:
DD passed the exam :rahrah: Interview tomorrow. About 40 to 50kids took the P3 papers. Similarly for P1 & 2. Let you know tomorrow how many at the interview round. Really pray that they can get through the interview tomorrow. DD sound asleep, I am more anxious and worried than them.Little_Princesses_LnK:
Hi!
How did the test go? I am so upset. I just found out today that there was an admission test for P1 2010 last weekend. I had no idea that there is such a test. I feel so guilty and ousy that I missed it. I should have checked the website every single day!
There is another admission exam in Apr/May 2010. You can start preparing your DD from now till then. -
Dear all,
Just wondering how is the morning traffic situation at SCGS in the morning, let’s say between 6.30-7am ?
I am referring to the direction going towards Bukit Timah Road (opposite to SCGS). Would imagine traffic will be bad outside SCGS (going towards Newton), but what about opposite direction ?
Thank you.

Hi cran7,
Please check out the thread on 2010 P1 Registration Exercise for 2011 In-Take. -
Hi Courage & Herbie,
Wow! congrats! your daughters are so bright!
Your daughters were accepted in GEP selection.
Care to share the reasons behind the decision for not joining GEP? If wanting to take up the GEP, must the girls be transferred out of the school?
I attended the P1 orientation yesterday.
was quite disappointed that I was not able to talk to the school to clear my queries
. The form teacher was very busy to attend to parents in filling up the form ....
My queries are:
- whether have exam for P1 in 2010 and subsequently P2 in 2011 and so on?
- will the student stay in the same class throughout the whole 6 years in Pri? or will all the top students in one class and poor students in another class? or well-mixed in a class for top and poor students? If there is no exam, how to screen top and poor students for class allocation? when will they do screening for class allocation?
- they mentioned about the CCA for P1 students but didn't share with us on how to apply them...:?
- any special or additional lessons/subjects for GEP students in SCGS?
BTW, Courage, which class is your girls in P1?
Regards,
Melodies -
Hi,
I'm staying very near to SCGS and passing both roads everyday. The traffic is alright every morning (unless car broke down or special events in ACS) outside SCGS be it towards bukit timah road or towards Newton.mwchua:

Hi Melodies
Thanks!
My DD intend to take up GEP so she will be leaving SCGS.
Pupils does not stay in the same class throughout the whole 6 years in Pri. At P4 and P5, the schools will group the top students into 2 top classess.
Cheers! -

Melodies,
My dd is not in P3 this year but Herbie's daughter is. My P1 dd is under Ms Lim. How about yours?
Not to worry about CCA in P1. Those mentioned during the Orientation day is optional, mainly come with enrichment classes. There are a lot more CCAs to join in P4. They will be given the forms when school re-opens.
I am not sure if they still have exams for P1 next year. Academically bright students will be grouped into one/two classes. The students do not stay in the same class throughout their 6 years. However, all the students are given chances to excel in all area regardless of whether they are academically strong or not.

I am looking for a After-school student care near SCGS or Newton or Bukit Timah area, any one knows of any to recommend? Thanks!
