I think she wants your involvement in the activities she is doing, not by herself alone. 😂

Maybe you could arrange with some other parents whose kids about the same age whereby they can play together. Maybe sign up some enrichment programmes for her. 😉

Kids are full of energy even my p3 boy also said boring till I manage to get something that really occupied his time as he has passion in it but not pc games or tv. :boogie:

I have elder kids so I made them play with my smallest one for about ten minutes or half an hour so I can do other things. :celebrate:

Try hiding the old toys, route the toys available to play and hid after a few days.

        That’s what I do.

My kid delighted to see the old toys back from sight and start playing them.

Add in a few new toys once a while, then hid again.

How about organizing play dates with children of similar age?

Swimming or playing at some water parks? Such activities usually tire the kid out. Then u hv a wee bit more time for yourself as she naps longer

My dd2 is also 3.5 y.o. Besides the usual toys, reading, activity books, puzzles, lego, she enjoys meddling with play dough and bouncing clay. Sometimes I turn on the music and does silly dance steps with her

Another thing that keeps her busy is getting her to draw/make paper puppets and thinking up a story line to present to her dad/sister when they get home. This way, she has a goal and something to look forward to. My dd can play by herself, but sometimes she does come to me for ideas in her game/activity/show me her 'master piece'. I think some kids at this age still cannot play by themselves for long, and it can be frustrating to the caregiver. Agree with MMM that it may be a passing phase. It can only get better.

Thanks all for your advices. Yes I agree play dates is good. But I don’t have many friends with kids who are available for play dates. Most are working and kids are in childcare or grandparents’ care.

Old toys yes, she will get a bit more interested, but after just a while, she gets bored of it too.

Maybe I need to bring her outside for some fresh air cum play, but recently the weather is terrible, she just recovered from viral fever. Need to think of many new things for her to occupy her time. I hope this really is a passing phase!

There are indoor playgrounds you can bring her to. There is one in Paragon. There is one at Junction 8, outside the area next to Haagan Das. Think this is semi outdoor, probably good for evenings. These are the free ones and there are some paid ones which can be found here:
              http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/indoor-playgrounds

Alternatively, sign her up for kids gym, then she will be too tired to feel bored.

Btw, I am curious, where did she learn the word 'bored' or \"boring\"? My blur girl did not know how to say that at the same age.

                Thanks ksi for the info!

She learnt the word ‘bored’ because I ever asked her "are you bored? nothing to do?". She said yes.
From then on, she started telling me she is bored when she has nothing to play or tired of her toys and the same activities she has been doing.

Also you could get her a bike or tricycle and let her ride along the corridor or ask her to help you in some household chores.

I got my daughter's (coming to 2 and half years old) help when hanging down the clothes, asked her to help me carry one or two clothing at a time from kitchen to the living room's sofa. She made many trips walking in and out.

I also asked her to get the green vegetables out from soaking in the water and put them on the plate while I'm in the kitchen preparing dishes. I also ask her help to use the magicclean mop to sweep the floor though I need to do it again after that. Sometimes, I give her baby wipes or squeezed dry wet cloth for her to help me wipe around the house. Of course, provided, she's willing to help. My girl love to help and always saying,\"Help!\" and stretch out her hand even though some she still cannot manage.

Naughty me, getting her prepare for housework in the future.
Labour work will sure make her tire out easily. Just sharing. 😉

Actually, I was thinking of that too... How did she learn about being bored.

I was looking at my 3 kids and they have never told me they are bored even when they are younger. I secretly thought either they were busy playing with each other or fighting with each other to feel bore :? Or I've been piling their schedule with enrichment classes that they are too busy to be bored

One thing that you need to do here is to make things work out for your kid. If you need to do something for her needs, then do it. Follow the advices of the people here, and also, try to http://incredibeds.com/kids-beds.html and see all the choices that you can make in order for you to have for your kids. I hope all is well in this one.

If she love challenging stuff can try jigsaw or lego. My DS loved them and they keeps him occupied.. 😄
