May I check has anyone fly by Jetstar to HKG? I hope to find out is it true jetstar flights tend to be delayed?? How's the service, meals onboard and the leg room? Thanks in advance.
Service - no delay
Meals - we bought snacks for the flight. No comments
Leg room - little but for the duration find it ok
Price - we paid $1.8k for 4a2c, including travel insurance, for jun school hol -

thanks but Our travelling period is late Sep 2012 so SQ promotion not valid... and we just missed the HSBC Cathay promotion by one day!! Hence no choice checking the budget airlines... tiger is really a bit squeezy. Is Jetstar as bad?? or slightly better?Callie Tan:

my flight - no delay
leather seat
leg space - little
meals on purchase - taste reasonable
aircraft : small airbus, single aisle, seating 3 x 3
recent SQ promotion fare was $4xx only, more worth it -
mummy of 2:
Yes currently the airfare is about $1530 for 5 adults... which is very reasonable but afraid of all those hiccups I mentioned... hence need to find out from fellow parents what their experiences are. Thanks!Callie Tan:

jetstar is better than tiger
May I know why you think so? -
Callie Tan:
1. there have been news and discussions on how Tiger pilots fly their planes. I won't want to get sued by repeating those allegations here but google it around the internet will show up some discussions on it. Hint : why they got grounded in OZ?verykiasu2010:

2. from observations on reported cases of delays, Tiger is worse than Jetstar
3. from personal experience, my Jetstar experience is better than Tiger -- cleaner aircraft, better crew, using T1 instead of Budget Terminal (although this will cease soon) -
Yes yes did read about those news… I travelled on tiger recently for the 1st time… Wil hope to have other choices this time if going to hkg. However I also read many serious complains about severe flight delays at Jetstar in their Facebook pages… That’s why a bit concerned… Thanks for your sharing.

do look out for promotional offers from Cathay or SQ .... they have the most frequencies and less problems with delays .....
for budget airlines, the headline price plus all other costs that add on to it will normally make it very similar to full service airlines' pricing. and to me it makes the hassles not worth it
my personal preference to travel in larger planes (777 / 380 / 747) which both Jetstar and Tiger do not offer. larger planes feel more steady in turbulence -

I take the budget airlines only to destination that the full service don't go to or to KL. -
agree too… when SQ has promotion it’s 400 plus per adult… when u calculate , it’s abt the same from budget airline… just 200 lesser or so (a group )… i learn this from verykiasu2010 from my last yeat HK trip heee… thanks to u ya !
