That's my tots too. Why go to GESPS when I shld fight for a better school.

Shall monitor 2012 P2C, and plan for 2013.

It is really hard to define what is meant by \"the better school\". It depends on your expectations but most importantly, your child's experience in the school.

If u already have a pre conception that GESPS is not as good as another school, my suggestion is that you shouldnt even try for it. Chances are that your biased initial impression will lead you to nit-pick on the school.

My DS is currently in P6 of GESPS. We had to make a difficult decision 3 yrs back when he was offered to take up GEP. It was really difficult becos we
found no compelling reason (besides the specially tailored curriculum) to change school. He was well taken care of and had many opportunities to develop holistically.

Honestly, GESPS offers no less than any other school.

To me, it is a bliss to be in a school near home, considering how many days the upper primary kids need to stay back in school for supplementary lessons and CCAs.

Gd luck in choosing a choice sch for ur DD!

One good thing about GESPS is that they do have a student care centre inside the school.

understand that you are < 2km more for CHIJ.
Even when come to P2C for balloting, you might not have a chance to fight this battle cause the limited balloting place will also be for those 2km>.

by then when you go for GESPS, it will be under P2C supp. GESPS P2C supp will also have balloting base on past record. …you have to balloting again…

Who know you might not stand a chance on both school and end up no where!

I think it not fair to pin point on GESPS as well! I think partly Their place taken up is slightly slower compare to the neighbourhood is becase of location. The estate there is more for elderly and not much new build flat compare to tiong bahru where there are alot of new HDB being built. Whereas Zhangde is also nearer to MRT station. It more convienient for parents to send or pick up their children before/after work.

Parents might go around to seach for so called "Better School" and try ways mean to enrol in, but untimately can the child perform is another questions?

i believe most parents will wan to enrol their kids into

so called gd/top sch and stress their kids to perform well.
i agree with breezy point tat distance between hm/sch is impt,
tats y most probably i will b enrolling my kids into GES 2015…
6yrs ago there r quite a number of blocks built opp the mrt.
fortunately i am staying there and i c lots of children ard the area when i
bring my kids to the pap and gesps is just ard the corner.
so i believe its not abt the location but most parents prefer so called
other better schs imo

Hmm … U have a point too.

Personally, I feel Gesps and zhangde is abt the same. However, their place is taken faster than Gesps. properly due to new building and nice design uniform. Compare location tiong Bahru do have more new estate than redhill. Can’t deny that their location is much more convienent.
Therefore, don’t think that if the school vacancy is full faster mean they are so called the better one .

Zhangde taken up the place fast as it provides shelter from rain & shine to the Tiong Bahru Bus Stop & MRT. :rahrah:

Hi all, my friend has a query. Her eldest girl is in Hougang Primary School. She was from Radin Mas Primary School. She is considering to enrol her younger girl in Radin Mas Primary School under Phase 2A2. What are her chances of getting her younger girl in to Radin Mas? Also more importantly, since she is staying in Hougang, is it worth her efforts to travel to Bukit Purmei in the morning? Another problem is the waiting list for Primary 3 for her elder girl in Radin Mas is more than 20!! ?? Advice please

Will her girl be the last to alight from the school bus and how is she going to cope with all the homeworks from Radin Mas?
