City Harvest's founder Kong Hee & 4 others arrested/charged

According to the news article I read, the Sentosa Cove penthouse was registered under KH and the Indonesian bizman's names. But who holds majority or minority stakes, only KH and this guy know.
SilentHermit:
hmmm.. I think it was published somewhere that the penthouse he is staying in has another Bizman's name registered to it... So, technically, he could be a minority owner of the house..schweppes:
I'm curious. Don't CHC members question KH's lifestyle and current residence? Or they are aware and are ok with that. Are they not perturbed that their contributions may be servicing his lifestyle and address? I mean, I don't expect pastors or religious leaders to live in poverty but... does one need to own a property at Sentosa Cove? It all sounds so unnecessarily extravagant.
KH talks about prosperity gospel... but, whose prosperity are CHC members servicing here? -
Dreamaurora:
I need to get this off my chest. I will go on record for this (and most likely incur the wrath of CHC members) and described CHC account of this Roland Poon incident to its members.
They denied like a blatant liar and kind of force that poor guy to apologise. Goodness, what else under heaven (if there is such place) will they restraint their sinful (if there is such thing as sin) deeds.looking4Tutor:

SilentHermit: So far, IRAS has not entered the picture. It does appear to have some taxation issues here. Apparently there have been open talks about project crossover as early as 2003. There was also a complaint by a businessman Mr Poon then, but the church has denied the allegations by Mr Poon, saying no money was used to help Sun Ho’s career, but now the church’s statement seems to suggest otherwise.
I was still a CHC member in 2003 when this incident occurred. Roland Poon has printed the apologies in the newspapers. Kong Hee explained to the congregation in the services that CHC's admin invited Roland Poon to the office to explain to him that there was no church fund used for Sun Ho's career. The meeting ended amicably and Roland Poon decided to print the apologies because he felt that he had wronged the church and Sun Ho. There was no mention that he was threatened with a lawsuit. Kong Hee even said in the service that they did not want to sue the guy as he thought as a Christian one should forgive with grace.
Yes, the above account is true and you can double confirm with CHC members who was there in 2003.[/quote]At the outbreak when the 5 were rounded up for questioning, it was reported that Roland Poon was so shakened by the incident when there was an effort to contact him to have his take on the latest development..............hmmmmmmm! -

I wont be surprised if it is some kind of gift too. I know of people like to give pastors expensive presents, eg. a few thousand dollars of CNY red packet. -

If he was really threatened by lawsuits before, I don't think he wants to go through the same thing again. I knew well that last time Kong Hee's explanation to the service was in line with what MSM has reported about this i.e. Roland Poon has seen the light and understood he was just misinformed. But I didn't feel right about that. If he was forgiven, why did he has to print full public apologies costing 5 digit figures when an open letter to the MSM explaining that he was just misinformed would have been sufficient to close the case.

Why did I leave the church in the end? I read Roland Poon's apology letter and one of his supposedly false allegations...I was involved in one of them. I simply could not stay in that church anymore because of my conscience. To this day I felt terrible for Roland Poon and sometimes I think if I should have done the right thing by speaking out the truth. -
Dreamaurora:
Wow! We are really getting some real insight about the whole saga. From what you have said, Roland Poon's supposedly false allegations is not false after all??kwcllf:

If that is the case, what does this all tell of KH when he addressed the whole congregation and tell them that Roland Poon \"realised\" his mistake and the matter was resolved \"amicably\"? -

I was never convinced (and still not) that the matter was settled amicably. -
Why don’t CHC members question KH & Sun Ho’s lavish lifestyle here and in US, Why sold his business back to CHC (why not others? why must CHC?)? and how much assets he and his wife have currently? Why didn’t he lead by example by donating all his business and assets to CHC instead of quoting others’ example of downgrading 5 HDB to 3 HDB in order to donate the money to CHC? Did he contribute the monthly tithes and weekly offerings? Who funds the expenses of Sun Ho in US? I wonder if KH is the wealthier Pastor in Singapore?

It hasn’t been mentioned in this forum.
If Project crossover was to groom a star singer to reach the entertainment industry, then shouldn’t they pick a younger person instead of Sun Ho who was already in her 30s? I am sure there are many potential young talents among their 33000 strong membership or the wider christian community.
It is also not true that there weren’t any pop stars singer in the entertainment industry then. I think famous Taiwanese composer cum singer, David Tao, is a christian.
