Probably hundreds of Singapore cars crossed over to JB each day, and such unfortunate events, luckily, only happened once in a while.

So the probability is quite low … I hope

200k of valuables in the car.... 😓 ..

Same thought ... Maybe some expensive handbags, plus devices like iPhone, iPad, etc.

It has been more than 5 years since DH and I drove up to Malaysia for holidays. I always have the jitters … Anyway we made sure we travel with friends - usually 3 to 4 cars together.

I live in JB & I am sorry to hear such unfortunate thing to happen to our fellow Singaporeans. I have never liked to hang around near JB town.Luckily I live in the new town; Nusajaya. I have lived here a year plus & I usually will not go shopping without a male family member around. My advice to my fellow Singaporeans; Pls travel with a male companion & never travel alone. It has been in the news recently that they ve been targeting women who travel alone.

No lah, that amount includes the cost of her car, a Nissan Sunny.

Why did family bring computer into JB? Was told that if driving into JB, cannot stop at certain area. Dress down, nothing flashy. Singapore cars are always targets in Malaysia.

Yup, we hardly go JB, but if we do, we usually dress down and with no valuables. DH even makes sure DD is dressed in her ugliest and most worn out outfit… Haha! Most importantly, not only dressed down. It’s ‘car’ down for us too.
