I am just voicing out from a layman's point of view - I have suffered an injustice at their hand so I want to seek legal redress.


I respect the Christians' standpoint. So can Mr. Poon ask CHC to issue public apology in all 5 mainstream papers?

The accepted norm here is that Christians should handle a dispute with grace first, but it does not mean one needs to be a pacifist. The theology here is a bit complex to complain as the verses supporting it may seem to contradict one another without understanding their contexts.

But basically, when handling a dispute, a Christian should do this in following orders:
1) ask nicely the offending the party to make amend
2) if fails, ask an elder or pastor to mediate
3) if 2) fails, either decide to forgive the person and let God judge the person or take legal action.

So if mr poon feels that he has been wronged, as a good Christian he would ask the church to make amend with grace. Demanding or taking a suit immediately would not be in line with biblical teaching.

Every religion has its good and, well, not so good. Be open minded and read widely to learn the good (and be wary of the less-desirables) of different religions and schools of thought (eg. Teachings from LaoZhi).

Let me get this straight. You are asking a very sensitive question in a multi-religion public forum that is probably closely followed by other observers. On top of that, this question is one that even many Christian leaders cannot agree definitely. And you are asking a normal church-goer, not even properly trained in theology in a religious institution to answer this question?

That being said, I understand where you are coming from. Upon seeing your post, I asked my wife what if a non-Christian ask you that question. She said honestly she would be probably at loss of words. And yes, like you, I was also asked this question before by non-believers. And yes unfortunately, there are Christians who go around proclaiming that non-Christians will go to hell definitely and unable to suppor their claims. I will think about your question first. Whether I decide to answer this publicly in this forum I am not sure; but I will definitely give you my thoughts on this.

The question is not controversial at all. The Bible is very clear in its answer here:

\"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does NOT believe stands condemned already because they have NOT believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.\" (John 3:16-18)

\"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will NOT see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.\" (John 3:36)

Ask this one simply question: if Jesus did not die to save us from hell fire (which is what all who are born in sin deserves), then what did he die for?

\"There is no difference between Jew and Gentile (non-Jews), for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,\" (Romans 3:22-23)

\"God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. currently there are more than 1 church in town that slant their bible teaching during weekly sermons heavily towards themes of Prosperity, materialism gain, $. We want \"More, More, More !\". Give us \"More, More, More money blessings ! \" You may hear their sermons broadcast live on internet on weekend.

Usually, they like to target the highly impressionable teenagers group & young working professionals. Reason: this group of target people bring forth recurring income earnings to the church via love gifts donations, via tithing, both now & in future. To attract more youngsters to join, they tend to market, package & deliver their sermons attractively via modern live band, pop concert music style type. Their pastor(s) dress, present & talk with attractive charisma on stage, so that their image projected appeal to the younger generation(s). To identity which church fall under such category, below are some tell tale sign(s):-
