My 3.5 years old girl keep saying she is bored!

Also you could get her a bike or tricycle and let her ride along the corridor or ask her to help you in some household chores.


I got my daughter's (coming to 2 and half years old) help when hanging down the clothes, asked her to help me carry one or two clothing at a time from kitchen to the living room's sofa. She made many trips walking in and out.

I also asked her to get the green vegetables out from soaking in the water and put them on the plate while I'm in the kitchen preparing dishes. I also ask her help to use the magicclean mop to sweep the floor though I need to do it again after that. Sometimes, I give her baby wipes or squeezed dry wet cloth for her to help me wipe around the house. Of course, provided, she's willing to help. My girl love to help and always saying,\"Help!\" and stretch out her hand even though some she still cannot manage.

Naughty me, getting her prepare for housework in the future. :evil:
Labour work will sure make her tire out easily. Just sharing.

She learnt the word 'bored' because I ever asked her \"are you bored? nothing to do?\". She said yes.
From then on, she started telling me she is bored when she has nothing to play or tired of her toys and the same activities she has been doing.

Actually, I was thinking of that too... How did she learn about being bored.

I was looking at my 3 kids and they have never told me they are bored even when they are younger. I secretly thought either they were busy playing with each other or fighting with each other to feel bore :? Or I've been piling their schedule with enrichment classes that they are too busy to be bored :oops:

One thing that you need to do here is to make things work out for your kid. If you need to do something for her needs, then do it. Follow the advices of the people here, and also, try to http://incredibeds.com/kids-beds.html and see all the choices that you can make in order for you to have for your kids. I hope all is well in this one.

If she love challenging stuff can try jigsaw or lego. My DS loved them and they keeps him occupied..

Yes I asked her to help me to bring the clothing from kitchen to living room too, at first she was so excited to help but after a few times, she refused to help anymore. But now she still enjoying folding her small handkerchief.


She has been doing jigsaw puzzle since young and now she is very good at it. I have many jigsaw puzzle at home and she can complete the 40 pcs puzzle all by herself.
She is getting bored of them already.

Try Jigsaw puzzles and throw her some mathmatical questions.

She is no child genius. lol. She is not good at mathematics actually. Only good at speech? She can speak very well.

Maybe if she's bored you can get her some educational TV shows or games to play and watch.

Or just buy some puzzles for her. Puzzles can help in visualization and improve our memory and brain capacity. Good for children and kiasu moms who want a head start for their children so they won't feel a sudden stress when they enter primary school.

Don't get those with over a few hundred pieces cos it'll get really boring. Being children, maybe those with 30 to 50 pieces will do.

Don't get those boring puzzles that turn out to not have any picture at all. Buy those with colors that are bright and attention-grabbing.
