        Charmaine, dimsum,

I just tried to order from dangdang.com, I found out that they allow bank transfer.

All those books are out of stock at http://www.dangdang.com right now. These are very new books, published in June 2009, so there should be new stocks coming.

I found the books at other china websites. But the shipping is so expensive compared to dangdang.com. Shipping alone can be as much as SGD 50 for the 7 books.

I am still trying to find from other websites.

Note that I have not seen these books before, not sure how good they are. But I am keen to buy them because of the excellent reviews.

          Hi Tamarind,

          Thanks for the updated information.

It will be good if danddang has sample pages for viewing. I have other consideration before i make decision to buy. One of the criteria is the words must be big enough so that i can teach my girl 16 mo. She is a lot easier to coach.

I tried other websites last night. No result.

            Hi Charmaine,

I bought myself when I still had my citibank credit card.

Some books on dangdang do provide sample pages.

            Hi Tamarind,

Thanks for the info on bank transfer! I thought it’s only applicable for china own local bank accounts. So for us, won’t we incur bank charges?

              Hi dimsum,
Yes we will incur bank charges. But no choice lor. I have just applied for the Citibank credit card. In the future I will just use the credit card. But I am keen to get the books now, don't mind paying one time bank charges.

These China websites really make things very difficult for people living outside of China to buy from them.

Hi I went to check out the books but realised that they are all for younger kids.

Just want to recommend this series 小白龙,my son does not like Chinese but he likes these books because they are written in comic form and yet teach Chinese. (though I have yet to find out whether he reads the Chinese or is only looking at the pictures! 😉 )

They have a website here but I think Popular sells them too.
If anyone knows of any interesting books for 10 year old and above, kindly recommend!

My child likes 小白龙 too! They are doing roadshows in major shopping malls where the 小白龙 comic books are going for S$1 each. Give them a call to find out the schedule. I bought a pile just a few weeks ago.

Maybe we should have a seperate thread for how to help our older children with Chinese. I am also continously looking for good Chinese books for mychild. It is really trial and error.

why dang dang rejected my credit card payment ? I use citibank mastercard.

Is it must use Visa ?
