I don't know DS, but JS I know some.
JS was a very popular tele-evangelist in US.
He was very gud at wat he does.
Was there in d US when his sex scandal broke.
He cried on TV begging for forgiveness.
He was in turn exposed AFTER his 'victim', another preacher he exposed retaliated in a sting ops as reported at dat time.

Not sure if Ming Yi was really \"destroyed\" by the allegations. In 2010 after his prison sentence, he was reinstated as the abbot of the Foo Hai Chan Monastery and a grand dinner was thrown in a 5 star hotel to celebrate his 20 years of service.

the motive - $$$
the target - the wanna believers, the need to believe, the kiasi, the pretentious, etc etc
the method - ........ what we see all around here and elsewhere, usually around subject on faith, miracles, security,need to belong, etc ( as in the vid below )
the players - convincing charismatic 'salesmen' who become multi millionaires
the common sign - give till it hurts, be generous, praise is empty without donating, etc etc
the allegations - scam, greed, con , tapping on human's need to believe ( religion or otherwise )

it exist all around the world, lambs are everywhere.....nuff said.

At the end of the day, it should be how you live your life, how you contribute physically to society and the community that counts, NOT how generous and how much you can contribute to THE 'organisation'. You cant buy your slot up there in afterlife, you have to EARN it. and no ONE individual can determine your route or destiny....... too many take the easy way - buy the slot in heaven ? and by installments ? :siao:

I take issue with this Swaggart fellow is because one should not use the pulpit to do personal attacks like that. My church's preachers has also repeatedly warned against this prosperity teaching in the sermons, but they never resorted to angry tirades against the preachers who preach those erroneous teachings. What this Swaggart fellow was doing was no better than the prosperity teachers themselves i.e. toying with people's emotions to bring his point across.

Yes, I agree too. The case is about how Kong Hee and gang has allegedly mishandled church funds, not prosecuting CHC nor Christianity. There are definitely many good people in CHC.
