IIRC, sometimes the BTU of the compressor is much lower than the sum of all the output at the fan coil units. Eg, a 3-split each having 9000 BTU while the compressor is only 21,000BTU. I remember the saleperson ever told us that if all units are turned on, the effectiveness of each unit will go down.

If 2 units are turned on, they can run at 9k each, 18k total. But since they have to cover a large space, the compressor may cut-off less often.
If running 3 units, total max at 21k, but maybe compressor cut-off more often due to even cooling. So even at 21k, the overall usage in terms of watts maybe lower due to more cut-off time.
Juz my guess...not trained in this area.

Now I don't on fan. When using computer, I use usb fan. wonder will electricity be lesser? I also use energy saving light bulb lamp for daytime if necessary.
Confirm lesser. USB fan is not as powerful as the normal fan. -

If I'm not wrong, the inverter type is good in that it will regulate the compressor output and adjust according. That means the compressor is always on, but running at maybe different speed depending on load.
This is much better than the traditional design where the compressor can only run at one speed, so, when the temperature is reached, it just Cuts OFF.. and when temperature rises, it turn ON again..
Inverter type is not only more efficient (on/off regularly consumes more power), but it is better for the durability of the compressor or air con as a whole.. -
Hi, im helping my mil to pay her PUB bills. she’s living alone, my gal will go to her place when im at work. but her bills come up to 90 per month. she don’t use aircon, watch very little tv, hand wash her clothes, and just simple cooking. as compare to my bill, 2adult and 1toddler, 130 per month. her’s seems a little too high.

I used to think that of ceiling fans (the light will be interrupted by the whirring fan blades). but the newer ones nowadays have their light under where the fan blades are.
I installed one some months back and so far very happy with it. True, fans can only circulate hot air - but some circulation better than none. Ceiling fans very power, floor standing types cannot fight. -

Oh my goodness, my utility bill each month is $350. I have cracked my brain many times how to cut down on the bills but doesn't seem to work.
Do you guys turn off the power for TV and computer? Or just off the power at the equipment itself? I heard you need to remove the plug out from the socket to be effective. -

above the lower third of the bed / room is good enough. the air circulates, you don't need the wind to blast directly down your head :rotflmao: -
This is news to a lot of people. After all, when you plug something into the wall, it seems clean enough – you don’t see or smell any pollution, like you do with your car. But the pollution is there – it just happens at the power plant. Most electricity is generated by burning coal and other fossil fuels. Every time you turn on the lights, you create a little pollution.

Well, all our aircon units in the house are inverter... so turn on all 3 in the living room will save more electricity?? We have 1 compressor for one big unit and another compressor for the other 2 units.
The only thing I believe what the salesman says about a product, is the price of the product that he is selling. But even then, sometimes they can get the price wrong.puff:
In your case if your aircon is inverter than turn on 3 definitely will save more than 2 . I remember the sales man told me for inverter u will start saving only when u turn on 3.
