I just registered my P5 gal for their intensive holiday program.

Her recent SA1 result saw a huge drop in her marks. The panicky me has no choice but to find alternatives to boost up her understanding.

According to the lady at the centre, she said in this 5 day programme, the student will be given oral practices and will need to complete 1 compre & 1 compo every day. :yikes:

She also mentioned that from P5 onwards, comprehension passages are not straightforward answers. They will also teach the student how to analyse the comprehension passages and know where to extract the answers.

Hopefully, it will be of help.

        Hi lesmay,

Thanks for your feedback. So fast, you registered the holiday prog.

I am still considering for the holiday programme due to it may conflict with our family holiday plan. But I signed up for the regular enrichment programme for the next term, since their material for P5 is quite impressive which I saw when I visited them. And also heard from my friend whose P6 gal got 9 marks improved in her SA1 of PHPPS since she joint hua cheng for NC enrichment last year.

Hope it really works, but according to their counter, the centre will closely moniter the progress of each student and regular communicates with parents and seeks the cooperations for making sure kids review the works at home, as all the tips for exams were given in works in the class.

Sorry my son is at P5 with the HCL, but just to check out the crowd of parents on Saturday waiting outside of Hua Cheng whose children maybe most from the lower primary. It seems tht it's more welcomed than its neighbour. You may want to check with them directly.

In PSLE 2011, Hua Cheng scored 100% A & A* [think it’s for students who attended both their CW and paper 2 classes]. That’s a fantastic achievement by my books.

But that’s because their students all need to take a placement test before enrolling.

No, according to their counter, the admission diagnostic test is not a must which can be relaced by the latest school test paper results. The mean aim is to know better about the weakness of the kid for better grouping and progress tracing purpose.

i have asked about k2 and P1 classes at the same time, and also look through the material of them. For K2 , They teach the P1 Text book vocab, and sentences, and also a short comprehension, and the lady tell me most of their K2 child can read chinese story book alone!

The lady also showed me around, the education centre have alot of activity and programmes to make the children enjoy in learning chinese. And i noticed my dd likes the story books which place on the rack!im happy to see she is trying to read chinese story book!I think here is a good starting point for her!
