Fremantle to Mandurah will be about 1 hour drive. Then from Mandurah to Busselton Jetty will be another 2 hours. We had thought of doing both Mandurah and Busselton when we were there a few years back. But realised that the dolphin boat out will need advance booking and might also upset the timing as we have to find our next motel near Busselton. So we decided not to risk it. Can be done but can be touch and go. Depends on your preference. And timing must be right. For 1 year old, might not be so meaningful.JR:
Hi, I'm planning to go to Perth with my 1yo and 3yo.
Day 1: Perth city: bell tower and king's park
Day 2: caversham wildlife park, Whiteman park and chocolate factory
Day 3: Fremantle
Day 4: Busselton Jetty, Mandurah
Day 5: Magaret River and farm stay
Day 6: return to sg
Wonder if it's too hectic a trip with 2 young kids? possible to combine Busselton and Mandurah for 1 day?
Where are you staying at Busselton? Just curious. We stayed at one resort near Abbey which was good.
Hi JR,
Thks for your reply. I am not taking the dolphin cruise, planning to go to the Abingdon Minature Village at Mandurah. Then over to Busselton jetty. Haven't decide on where to stay, at Mandurah or Busselton...
If it is just a visit to the minature village, then you can control the timing. I would think you can spend the morning in Mandurah and then drive over to Busselton. I suppose you are visiting Busselton jetty. We spend about 2 to 3 hours there if you include the visit to the underwater observatory.
If you are going on to Margaret River, then I would suggest you stay near Busselton as it is nearer to Margaret River. No point going back to Mandurah and back again past Busselton the next day... -
Thks. Where did you stay in Busselton?

Thks. Where did you stay in Busselton?
We stayed at Abbey Beach Resort http://www.abbeybeach.com.au/
Its quite a nice place with access to the beach. Too bad for us was that we arrived late at the resort and had to leave early the next day back to Perth. So we did not get to use the facilities. This resort is part of the Qantas free and easy package. -

Btw, did you go to the caversham wildlife park? If I am going there, guess there is no need to make a trip to peel zoo, it's roughly the same right? -

Never been to Peel Zoo, so I can't compare or comment. I suppose it should be about the same. Depends on how you are going to fit your schedule.
When will you be going to Perth? Just to let you know that there will be lots of houseflies flying around everywhere (when we were there in early Dec). It is a seasonal thing. Harmless insects, just around everywhere, no way to stop it. Just shoo them away and move on. Have to learn to live with it... Not sure if it is only in Perth or everywhere in Australia... -

Thanks! I am planning to go in early Nov, will there be flies too?
Now I am kind of worried about the return flight, as the plane will touch down SG around 11pm+. If the kids manage to fall asleep onboard, it will be difficult to wake them up and make them sleep again when reach home. -
Highly recommend Blue Bays apartment for families heading to Busselton... http://www.bluebayapartments.com/home

Not sure about when the flies season starts. Actually after a while, you get used to them.

hi
i am looking to book land tour at Perth, anybody got any good recommendation? -
Hi, I am trying to book my hotel room online and found that most hotels’ rooms state max 2 people or max 3 people in a room. I intend to book a room with queen/king size bed as my 3yo girl will sleep with my husband and me, while request a cot for my 1yo son. If I book a 2 bedroom apartment, it will be too big. Anyone with similar situation, what do you do?
