Any one has any comments on The Learning Ladder (same teaching style as Schoolhouse by the Bay) at Bt Timah?

            My son is in Citikids.

He got a place there naturally moving up fr infant care.

However i find it really noisy that all the ages fr different levels are in the same big room with half partitions. Isnt it distracting to learn?
I have visited Orange Tree and Caterpillar Cove and they have the same concept too, but the place is at least bigger.

Also thought the place looks relatively bare on the walls, other than coloured cabinets and toys, few educational words and pictures. Prefer a bigger place w more facilities and more stimulating enrivonment.

But best part of the school is, dinner is provided. And absolutely no TV. Even between 5-7 I see some teachers teaching and reading and singing too!

Liked the facilities in new life church, children campus and orange tree, any comments?

              Hi,

I am also contemplating Orange Tree and like you, I would prefer classroom settings. I am worried of the noise level and germs passing around. But I like their bilingual curriculum. I am however a bit worried about the school being too worksheet based. I think there is a long wait list there…

              Where is Citikids?

                  Dear Mummies,

Can I seek advice from all the mothers here? My 28th mths old son is currently with a childcare but we are thinking of transferring him out as he is basically not learning much in the centre. Especially with the high turnover of the teachers for the past 6 months, the other parents have been feeding me info like how they left my son unattended for hours as he is not compliant. They put me outside the classroom and let him room around the other classrooms on his own. With this, we are seriously thinking of taking him out. However, as he is delayed, we are torn between putting him in a 3 hrs structured montessori class vs a traditional kindergarten. There have been different comments and suggestions but our preference would be a TLC enviorment with low t-s ration. We are staying along upper bukit timah and thus far, have the following places in mind:

                  1. Arise Kindergarten
                  2. Bukit Panjang Methodist Kindergarten
                  3. Cannosian Kindergarten
                  4. Spring Montessori
                  5. Early Years Montessori

The main aim is to let him have social interaction in the mainstream as he is attending EIPIC in the afternoon. Would appreciate if mothers could give me your comments to the above or any other centres worth exploring that might suit my son. It would be another challenge to get them accept him during enrolment i believe but we will try nonetheless. Thank you for all comments and support.

                  Happy National Day:)

                    Hi JLAT

You can try Cherie hearts at Jurong Kechil, Jalan layang layang. I just switched my 2 boys over there from a previous childcare and they loved it. Very small group and the teachers are very good.

Hi, how much is the monthly fees before subsidy? Thanks.

                      Hi,

Sorry for late reply. Regarding learning ladder, school is pretty good. Same teachers for many years. Mandarin teacher very good even though my son is from a non-mandarin speaking home he has picked quite abit attending just this year. English teacher and principal very nice too. Only down side for me is school fees expensive.

                        Hi there,

Need help to select the preschools for my boys, age 3 and 5.
Have been viewing at least 10 centers already.
                        1. CS Montessori At Bukit timah plaza- very exp, but the K1 and k2 are doing p1 and p2 work already. very impressive.
                        2. Ismart Montessori at bangkit. Teachers are caring. Saw one boy refusing to learn spelling, teacher had to put him to another empty room to coach him, boy was whining. Hhmm… Tot the kids are quite discipline and independent. Not sure how r they academic wise. Any comments? Slightly cheaper then CS.
                        3. Agape children campus at cashew. Teachers are principal are nice and caring. It’s a full day cc. Non Aircon. Seems old from outside, but it’s quite clean and neat. Have own playground. Seems quite average academic wise. I maybe wrong, any comments?
Quite worried for my K1 boy, not learning much current church kiddy. Sure will struggle at P1.
                        Thanks for yr help.
