[quote=\"mickeyhmh\"]NMOS results out already. List of students selected for special round are available here : http://oas.highsch.nus.edu.sg/NMOS/2012%20NMOS%20Special%20Round%20Qualifiers.pdf
Anyone knows the timing for 2nd Round ? Thanks. -

Any one share what textbook/ assessment your children hv for Maths ( on topics mean/ave/mode) & Science ( for Water Cycle ) ? TIA !
Average - can be found in P5 assessment book.
Mean, Mode and median - sec school maths.
Though it is taught in sec level, but the concept is easy to undestand. Basically must understand what is mean ( which is the same as average ),
mode and median. ( Mode and Median will not be tested in PSLE
)
Science - i think any science guide will be fine. -

Congrads!

Saw the list; it seems none of them is fr P4 from my DS school.
DS is also clueless abt this selection :? -

Thank you, I guess different schools have different emphasis on different competitions, so yr DS school may have stressed more on other domains. Just hope DS2 can do well this time round.

Most probably your DS's school only notify the kids about this competition when they are in P5. There is no special selection, anyone interested can just sign up.

I suppose this thread is for parents of p4-6 (2012-2014) geppers to have some general discussions abt their kids studies. I see no point for criticism to be made abt the GEP system here which only demoralize the parents and kids instead of giving valuable advice, support and info.

Does anyone know of the format for the coming chinese CT. Is it the same as the HCL format or normal Chinese format. Really hate it when the teacher does not even want to share the format to the class. Even in the National exam like PSLE, O level or A level, the format is always made known to the students :(.

Hope ur DD still can get some working marks there.

For SA2 HCL Test in Oct, TR informs that the kids have to do situational writing. Moving away from Picture Composition. The last situational writing done by the class, the highest score is 33/40. Most of them are hovering 23-29 marks. TR expects most of the kids may have difficulties in moving to situational than picture writing which will result in lower score.
