        Flying Cow Ranch

just to share my experience with the booking system. I intend to book the room for 5 pax. However, note that the booking slot is not open for this room type. Hence I leave them a comment in the ‘contact us’. They responded within a day asking for the period of stay and the type of accommodation (based on no. of pax). After that, they email me a link for the booking. I guess they may have reserved the room for tour agency.

My family spent a wonderful day there and we totally enjoyed it. As we went on a weekday, there is hardly any visitors. My children got to milk the cow as many times as they want and also feed the calf using milk bottle. They also fed the ducks as well. There is a small playground nearby and they had a good time playing there. At night, we joined their activity to make the local kueh and we all have fun. Take note that if your child is interested in riding horse, only available on weekends. My gal was kind of disappointed.
The room is spacious and they have internet TV as well as computer at the living area. However, the breakfast is not nice. We just ate a little.

I went mid Nov last year and it's raining everyday but not too heavy on most of the days. So, I am still fine with this kind of rain. I am hoping to find out how bad is the rainy weather in Sep. My concern is in September, whether there will be those typhoon storms that create havoc and I end up being stuck in hotel room, unable to do any sightseeing.

Managed to get the sale tickets during scoot sale and will be going in nov… Would like to have some hotel accomodation recommendation, preferably at a convenient location and hotel is clean, easy to get taxis etc as I’m bringing my 3 yr old daughter along. Someone recommended Caesar park tapei hotel but the Trip advisor reviews state that the hotel is quite run down. Anyone stays there before recently? I’m quite keen to book this hotel and would like to find out more.

                  Thanks in advance.

                    Typhoon

My gf stayed in Taipei for 2 years. There were a few occassions whereby her school-going kids had to stay home due to typhoon. When I told her we’ll be going in Nov, she suggested we go mid Nov onwards.

Taiwan is a beautiful place. Depending on your interest, there are so many things to see and do. We only visited Taipei (6N) and Hualien (3N) in our last trip. Honestly speaking, I do not appreciate Taipei ie TMS, it is so crowded! We do enjoy our stay in Hualien though and DH commented we should have stayed for 5N instead. We prefer nature to city.

With kids, you may want to bring them to Taipei Zoo, very cheap admission and the zoo is big. However, I think Singapore has more animal exhibits though. We did a day trip to the zoo followed by a gondola up Maokong, had some tea to appreciate nature and went to Shida NM for dinner. We did all these with 3 children, age 3 - 9 then.

In Hualien, besides visiting Taroko Gorge (which my kids enjoyed the trails), we went to Ocean Park too. Kinda boring for the adults but definitely welcomed by children. In my opinion, admission fare is pricey for the limited rides. However, we (adults) did enjoy their shows.

                      princesskari,

For good location, you can consider Cosmos hotel. I’ve not stayed there personally but read good reviews about it. City Inn is highly recommended in TA too.

For our coming trip, we decide to stay in a daily rental this time round. Reason: washing machine in our own room!! We did our laundry everyday last year, thankfully the hotel we stayed has a coin-operated washer just next to the family room.

                        Blessed homemaker

Thanks for the recommendations. Will check it out. When are you going this time round? Does daily rental provide housekeeping service like making bed etc?

I’m thinking of going to flying cow ranch and xiao ren guo/loofoo theme village. Is it ok to take cab there and back to taipei or more advisable to engage a driver to and fro? I’m concerned that if I were to engage a driver on the specific day and it happens to be a rainy day, we still have to pay the driver even if the trip has to be cancelled due to the weather.
