      fireflysky:

could you enlighten me in this?

I have 2 schools in mind,Nanyang and BPP.
As i am going via phase 2B, should i register with Nanyang first on day 1 or shall i wait till day 2?

I stay outside 2km of Nanyang primary and i do not want to waste my chance for phase 2B.

      for phase 2B:-
on day 2 (ie. Friday, 20 July 2012) normally after lunch around 2.30 pm onwards, the school would have collated Total # of 2B hopeful apply within 1 km, > 1 km. By then, school is more definite, can tell whether those > 1km has any chance.

you can still enrol for Nanyang, on day 1 or day 2 morning, since you'd sweat & clocked > 80 PV hours there.

However, be mentally prepared on standby alert that on day 2 around 2.30 pm onwards after lunch, in case at 11th hour suddenly got more people residing less than 1km, or within 2 km last minute rush down to enrol, the school may contact or sms those > 2km to withdraw.

is best to get your spouse stationed at the other school, Bukit Panjang with all important documents ready. In the event > 2km at Nanyang no chance, quickly withdraw your child from Nanyang first (if you'd enrolled him previously), before enrolling him into BPPS. The MOE computer is centralized controlled. The system check online real-time & permit enrolment into ONE school only. Besides Original documents, please bring extra sets of photostated documents along (just in case needed). In that critical hour, you won't have time to look for a photostating machine in the school to zap.

:thankyou: Thank you for the advice. Most likely will adopt this strategY! hopefully i can enrol my child in NYPS. Keeping my fingers cross.

        fireflysky,

it is my sincere hope that this year PV > 2km stand a chance to ballot.

however in the event no chance:-
        a)
        PV staying > 2km

by hook or by crook by end of Phase 2C (BEFORE 2C Supp kick in) :-
you must register your child into a backup school, much closer to your home (< 1km). This school won't be Nanyang, but is fine.

at the same time, quickly fill up \"Appeal form for Transfer Wait List\", stating down comments that \"you are a PV at NYPS\". Submit this Appeal form personally to Nanyang Principal. As you'd contributed > 80 hours, she'll know you personally.

        b)
        PV staying < 1km

in the event Nanyang require balloting less than 1 km at 2B but you're unlucky balloted out, do not despair. You still have another fighting chance at phase 2C.

based on past experience feedback from a number of parents, many still manage to get in at 2C, even if they'd failed in 2B balloting. The probability of failiing twice is quite low unless really ... no luck.

Thank you. But i am from grassroot, not PV. 😓
will withdraw if there is a balloting. not going to waste my chance for 2B.

at end of Phase 2A(1), what's the difference between 2012 vs. 2011 (MGS) ?

            refer MGS
            http://www.mgs.sch.edu.sg/documents/0000/2322/newUpdate4.30add.pdf

            Total vacancies: 210

            i)
            2011

            Phase 1: 62
            2A (1): 56
            2A (2): 22

at end of 2A(1): Total 118 seats taken. (56.2 % gone)

            ii)
            2012

            Phase 1: 70
            2A (1): 59
2A (2): out this Friday evening

at end of 2A(1): Total 129 seats taken. (61.4 % gone)

            difference: 2012 higher, by 5.2 %.
attributed to more siblings under Phase 1, than last year.

              Hi grand master,

Since the school only accept original doc, how can 1 spouse standby?

Can we call and inquire after 1 pm?

I presume you were asking about the withdrawal and reapplying situation. You don't need original documents to withdraw your application.
