      LOLMum:

I will go straight for Acsj under phase 2b.

Once place secured, monitor the situation at Acsp for phase 2 c. But I really wouldn't want to give up my secured place at Acsj just to risk balloting at Acsp (phase 2c).

Yep, I agree with LOLMum hehe

Thanks so much mummies. My husband and I also decided to just go for acsj. the stress of going thru the ballot again (we had once for my girl few yrs ago) definitely is not a sound choice.

      thanks again.

Anybody going to visit ACSJ before school registration to take a look?

I have never gone to ACSJ although we visited ACSP (Barker Road) for the alumni registration before during the school hols.
Called the school and was told to write in to ask for permission to visit. Even then will be after school hours and restricted to the hall and canteen, cannot go classroom.
Just wondering anybody tried to go visiting without prior notice before and allowed to go into ACSJ and walk around?

I haven't done that, but the school was quite strict last term about parents wearing their parent pass to be allowed to enter the school during school hours. Even parents are not allowed to go to the classrooms.

Why the need to go to classroom during school hours? :? All classrooms are the same. Haven't all of you attended classroom before? :scratchhead:

At the quadrangle, you will be able to see how a classroom looks like what. So why bother to go to the classroom and disturb the boys during the study hours.

Was speaking to some friends that day at a birthday party and he shared that ACJS might be tough competition in Phase 2B as there are alot of new properties lately around the area so there might be stiffer competition than previous years for the allocated seats ni each phase. Seems chances are very low even in Phase 2B. Sigh....

                Thanks mummy3streams!

OIC, so they quite strict with "strangers" which is good in a sense.

                Laughingcat,

Just wanted to go and take a look. Do my due diligence before registration next year. I saw from outside some of those blocks white with blue colour does not look nice at all. How does the school actually look like?

Furthermore, I thought we can go in during school hours, recess time or what and do some observation. ie. the mood, the happiness level of the students, vibes etc. What is the point of going to the school during off hours so quiet?

But anyway will abide by the rules, will write in and pop by to take a look soon!

                  Hi Desertwind,

At the quadrangle is more than enough already. There are noisy boys. You can pop by at Phase 2A2 registration which is tomorrow and friday. Just ask the admin people in-charge at the PA room which is beside the quadrangle. They will allow you to do so. Both ACSP and ACSJ allow parents to have a look at the school environment during the registration. But then again not at the classroom.

                      Hi

I am able to register my son in acs junior under phase 2b however I very to drive to acs junior as compared to we can walk to acs Barker. However registration for acs Barker will be 2c.

Am thinking of logistically my son can walk to school if acs Barker but 2b and 2c is also some risk. I am a Singaporean.

Could any kind parent advise what we should do? Is there any difference between these schools please? Thank u for ur time.

I think you should just go for 2B ACSJS first if secured then at least you got into a good sch. ACSPS has less places and you wouldn't know wht is the situation at 2C.

                      Hi jass,

Just wondering if you are using grassroot to apply ACSJ? Usually parent who apply 2B using church letter would be able to apply to both acs barker and acs junior.

So.. Are you within 1km to acs junior for 2B?

If the house to the ACSJ is 1.04 km, will it consider as Phase 2C within 1 km or 2km? What is the chances like? Should I aim ACSP less than 1km or ACSJ?
