I have just missed the dateline (1 july 2012) to register in PVS for my doter enrolment in year 2014 in order to be eligible for phase 2B. Call up the school and blankly turned down by sch staff and it is not even a top school. I just missed the dateline by few days but staff says rule is set by MOE. Has anyone ever appeal? The neighbourhood school is within < 1km but historically phase 2C always ballot. My estate is heavily dense esp there’s a huge condo estate just newly built near it. So chances of my doter getting in is very slim. Anyone ever apeal to MOE???

PV not administer by MOE, the school principle have the 'sole' discretion.
Try to talk to the VP or P ASAP and or go to the school personally with completed application form.

Can anyone share about the possible/usual qns asked during the interview? Other than looking for good contribution ideas and being able to complete the required hours, what else would the school look for?

My wife has already completed the 60hrs PV 7months back for my DS Born in 2007 which school needed and till now she still continue doing the PV for the school due to the needs of PV in the weekdays, most school dun need Pv on weekend. Hear from her, school always call up & ask Pv to come down to help out during weekdays but most of them cannot turn up. If you are a full time house wife, you will stand a very good chance to be a PV for the school because it’s simple, just like maths. They know you have the time to help them, they will choose you in the PV selection. Good luck to all parents still waiting to be a PV.

Hi does anyone know if I will to apply for PV, who is the one that will make final decision as to whom will get selected? is it the principal who will have the final say?

                    TIA…

The number differs among schools. A study of the past P1 phase 2b registration statistics might give you some clues. Call the school of your choice and ask them directly. They might give you an answer. Some schools are more transparent than others.

Not necessary. But if you have connections with the principal, it would definitely help!
