Why is PH suddenly so popular as compared to previously? Yikes!!
Not suddenly, it has been popular for years...I believe the current parents who went through this registration P1 past few years will be so glad they do not have to go through it this year again. With decreasing intake numbers for PH and those Bukit Timah schools, the supply/demand balance gets tilted further. All the best, toots!
Anybody knows why there is a decrease in intake for PH? It used to be 330 for quite some time and reduced to 300 recently. Some schools maintain 390 intake. 30 places means a lot! This year phase 1 seems so popular. What are the chances for phase 2C within 1 km?
Think you will know the chances by end of this week. PH will be more and more popular. If I am right, not so many old boys and girls graduated in the 80s and early 90s last time as there were fewer classes. -
Anybody here have done balloting before? When will the date be made known to you? With the new scheme kicking in, will SC still get 2 ballot chances?
-
The absolute priority scheme is of little use, as PRs who have kids already in PH will still gain unfair advantage over SCs. Don’t the pple at MOE pre-empt this loop hole?

MOE may have expected this, but cannot possibly do anything drastic or Singapore will be seen as anti-foreigner...PRs will also be fuming if their younger kids are disallowed to register under phase 1. -
There is a Creative Arts Programme catered for the top few classes, conducted by an Art instructor engaged by the school.
Since last year, my boy has been complaining about this instructor’s choice of words used to appraise the art work submitted by the pupils. I spoke to the teacher-in-charge who promised to speak to this instructor who later did toned down.
But this year, he again judged the pupils’ works using words like ugly, lousy, etc.
How would you as a parent respond? -

My sons (he is teaching p3 too) have no issue with him but they said he is very strict and a lot of pupils do not like him because of that. There is a Creative Arts Programme catered for the top few classes, conducted by an Art instructor engaged by the school.

Maybe that is his way of giving constructive criticism? -

If that's his method of constructive criticism, then I strongly believe he is not suited to teach children.
