Hi mummies, need some advice… We are staying within 1km from Henry Park but we got DS into Catholic under 2A1. Our plan was to withdraw from Catholic & try HPPS under 2C within 1km cos we hv a younger girl registering in 2014 & will kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Looking at HPPS current places left its very likely there will be balloting. Should we take the risk? We hope to minimize traveling for our boy as well… Thanks!

stay with Catholic High, do well, then ask for transfer to HPPS halfway through 2013. Don't think you want to risk balloting for HPPS 2C 1km. There's always the fallback plan - U can always try balloting for your daughter under 2C 1km in 2014.

          Remain at Catholic High.

Henry Park far too risky to attempt balloting this year.
You’ll cry if you’re balloted out of HPPS, & lose Cat High as well.

your daughter can attempt HPPS balloting next year for 2014 P1.

Why RGPS has no more seats? Still got balance after 2A2 right?

Balance at end of Phase 2A (2):-

                Nanyang : 48 (split: Phase 2B & 2C: each get 24 seats).

                RGPS: 81 (split: Phase 2B get 41 seats, 2C get 40 seats).

Thus, RGPS has .... MORE remaining seats.

                    for RGPS :-

this year P1 orientation is on Friday, 16 November 2012.

closer the date, they’ll inform parents the time & venue (usually school hall, level 2).

bring your daughter to the school hall first. She’ll sit according to her class assigned (you’ll be notified in due course your child’s class). Later, their respective P1 Form teacher will gather all the children together, then bring them down to their respective classroom downstairs, get to know them. Your daughter will get to know who are their Form teacher & classmates. Meanwhile, parents will be briefed by Principal & entertained by music, dance & song presentation items, sitting inside the hall.

this year (2012), there are Total of 9 classes (270 pupils intake):- from Primary 1 (A to I).

P1 and P2: study Afternoon session.
                    1 pm: school Assembly
                    3 pm: recess time

P3 to P6: study Morning session.

                      HPPS very hot this year

This year at end of Phase 2A, the most popular school is Rulang (after producing top PSLE student), followed by Henry Park.

but i'm not sure why HPPS suddenly so hot this year. Is it because more new condo built in Holland ? dynamics are changing !

Maybe this year, HPPS has more old boys/girls registering and these people are choosing between this school and another popular school near where they stay? Hence, like the general advice given here, \"secure a place at HPPS first and monitor the situation in the school of your choice accordingly\"?
