well, one can try this route (assuming it's a cinch finding that 2 sponsors) but then don't bang on it being absolute....there's no 包生子 going via this route.

Amongst other things, parents would have to consider if their child can adapt to these schools (eg if child is weak in chinese, you want him/her to be immersed in a chinese oriented environment?); and if the schools is within distance (more than 2KM - that parent either feels very lucky or has no clue what is going on).

Agree with you that if going through by SHHK no confirm is "包生子".
Maybe those who had tried 10-20 years agon then 100% confirm "包生子"

LOL! I am kiasu but not in everything. Or else can die from kiasuism! I think I tend to be kiasu in stuff that a \"typical kiasu S'porean\" would not be that interested in. Examples include the more social and emotional aspects of raising a child.

wah…after reading frm pg 1, i realised it’s really not easy for us parents now to work extra hard (maybe even harder than doing housework) to get the kids into the ideal sch we hope they can have a place in…

the whole pri 1 registeration is indeed high-level stressful…my #1 is a oct 2006 kid & i m beginning to feel pressurise in getting him into the sch w/t 1km even if i was to sign up for PV…

thks for sharing once again…i guess i really hv to work harder on this…

I think its either parent. There are other conditions to fulfill for some affliations (reg uner 2B). Its better to check with your wife's pastor/church org to be sure.

For my church, BOTH parents plus the child must be BAPTISED & members of the church.
