He says see how and what his wife says!!!! My dh says he's too young and i should not be bothered by the answer!

I think he's a smart man. Once married, wife comes first, ahead of mother unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong. We should always love our parents. But once married, we have to be very clear on our priority/loyalty. A line must be drawn and it must be FIRST to our own family.

    • RE: Should I complain to higher authority about the principal?

Just by reading what was described, I agreed with the several replies that the 2nd queue should not have been there. This is especially so if the kids are to alight in the middle of the road, and have to cross the inner-left queue to the school. To me, it’s a definitely lack of road-sense, and dangerous. Unless the kids alight right in front of the warden, and be assisted by the warden to cross the road.

    • RE: how much sleep do you really need?

My kids sleep at 8pm. They will be in their bedroom by 7.30pm, and lights off by 8pm. They will be awake on their own by about 6.30am.

My boy leaves house at 7am together with me, and we will take a relaxing stroll to school (benefit of living 500m from school).

My girl gets to sleep for another hour or so because she’s in K2.

So all in, they get about 10-11 hours of sleep. Parents get a peaceful 3 hours from 8-11pm. We appreciate this little window every. We adults normally dose off about 12pm. We are very happy with this and hope to perpetuate this arrangement, but we know it’s difficult, hehehe.

The above is possible, thanks to my dear wife who started "gina ford" approach from the very first day. When they were younger, they used to sleep at 7-7.30pm (it was great for us to recuperate, hahahah).

    • RE: Between Wii / Xbox / PS

      Thanks for the info/

But many told me that Wii has a wider spread of family appropriate games. Does Xbox have a good selection of that too ?

    • Between Wii / Xbox / PS

Hi all tech-savvy or rather computer games savvy, need some inputs as to which to get - I have 2 kids, boy 7 and girl 6. Objective is to have occasional computer games that are family friendly, not so violent and age appropriate for their friends get-together as well.

Trying to decide between Wii/Xbox and Playstation. Would appreciate all construtive feedbacks ad opinios. Thank you very much

      Funz:
Not speaking for applecrisp but from when the time when I was going through something similar.

I knew most if not all the people that DH was hanging out with. We work in the same industry and many of these people were my business associates or some even colleagues or ex-colleagues. There were times when I failed to reach DH, I had to resort to calling some of these people whom he might be hanging out with. It was embarassing both for him and for me.

Point is not so much who he was hanging out with but him making the choice, time and again, to keep hanging out with these people to the point of neglecting the family. Makes no difference even if these are decent people just unwinding over some drinks.
I do think there's a point who he hangs out with. Because, in many cases, feathers of the same flocks together. There are many reasons why a man would go to the extreme of being away from home.

I know of a case (though it was not as serious as what was discussed here) where the wife eventually found out the reason why the husband hangs out drinking because he was struggling with something in his life. Pride and ego got in the way. He was pouring it out with the few guys that he was hanging out with. These guys eventually spilled the beans with the wife.

I personally had a friend in KL, who would call me up at 3am to talk. He was struggling with an issue.

The point is to find out why. I'm not saying applecrisp's case could be solved this way. Neither did I say that one should call these guys. But knowing them gives a chance of finding out, directly or indirectly.

      Hi applecrisp,

Do you know the people that he hangs out with ? If you do, then you should roughly have a gauge whether he’s with good company or otherwise.

And if you know those people, better still. Befriend them and keep a communication channel with them - you will find out a lot from this channel if you play your cards right.
