Yes they do. But only for pple living within 1km at the time of PV application.
Even if PV, still stand slim chance of getting in coz the no. of seats available is really little. This year, Phase 2B only left with 15 seats for balloting. And Phase 2B includes PVs, grassroots and Catholics.
Can forget about it if you live outside 1km. -
Can we get priest to write a recommendation letter and secure a place in popular school i.e St Nic? Has anyone heard or experienced this?
I am exploring options beside moving within 1km to grant for balloting in 2B pharse. -

The priest will not write you that letter (coz they know it's not workable). Your gal's baptism cert is the proof they need to get into Phase 2B of St Nicholas. No other recommendation letter (even MP) will be accepted. Can we get priest to write a recommendation letter and secure a place in popular school i.e St Nic? Has anyone heard or experienced this?

If you are thinking of doing such unorthodox methods, better for you to keep it secret.
It is seriously too much hassle to try for St Nicholas. Must move within 1km to even try balloting. -
anyone can kindly advise is there any student care centre near CHIJ OLQP?

Can we do PV at CHIJ OLN??

Thank you all for your responses. We live just>2km from CHIJ (my first choice) and 1-2km from Haig Girls' (a very close second choice). No disrespect to any school or anyone, i would prefer a missionary school (my older boy goes to St.Stephens') despite being non- Catholic. My kids both take Chinese. I am so confused and worried i might lose out on both schools......Does anybody have any advice for me? Oh yes, also want to mention we are only applicable for the 2C phase as my husband and i did not grow up here but we are all Singaporean.
Where do you stay are you aiming for CHIP TP -
I think she talking about IJ Katong coz she seems to live in the east.

I wouldn't say it is unorthodox. Catholic sch may use other method to give priorty to Catholic children. e.g expand the class for catholic only. I heard it happened before in some overwhelming Catholic Sch. As such, getting a written text would be helpful and definitely is not from MP. Well, that was what I heard. I hope they expand the class during my gal's registration year.

I agree with you St Nic is too much of a hassle to try for.
You wouldn't believe it, I am stress by my gal... she only wants to go to St Nic. I am trying to manage her by telling how tough the sch work is and her respond is... \"it's ok\".
Last night, she told my hubby if St Nic cannot her 2nd choice is Nanyang. I almost flipped off from the chair.

Your gal is very "on". But guess you guys might have already "influenced" her last time that those schools are good and you want to apply… I did that for my boy and regretted it but luckily he was ok with plan B. I am not gonna tell my 2nd kid which school I am targeting next time…
