      Hi

I am staying within 1km from NYPS and RGPS, I am under phase 2C. Logically I should choose RGPS cos of more seats available but my heart goes to NYPS. What shall I do?

Anyone knows RGPS P1& P2 is in morning or afternoon session?

Phase 2C registration occupy 3 days:-
30 July (Monday), 31 July (Tuesday), 1 August (Wednesday)

in the event some (PVs + GRLs) staying less than 1 km from Nanyang fail to ballot under Phase 2B (fighting for 24 seats left), they'll try their luck one last (more) time for balloting under Phase 2C. This \"spill over\" effect from 2B will make 2C even more competitive.

thus gather as much info from both schools, within the 3 days of Phase 2C assigned. Between them, see which one within 1 km offer you the Highest, greatest chance of success entry. On day 3 (last day) latest around 3 pm, make up your mind & register.

        RGPS P1 & P2 : study Afternoon session.
P3 to P6: study Morning session.

parents now register in early phase (alumni n old boys/girls ) to avoid uncertainty in phase 2c n supplement. As such the chosen school is not that close to any kid anymore as what government or school emphasize. There is still flaw in the policy to alumni or old boys girls phase. It should include home distance as well. For HPPS, early phase taken up by siblings studied in tt school, old boys girls n alumni, not implicating the nearby condos or distance as yet.

            Morning everyone.

Do you thinking there will be balloting conducted for those within 1km for Nanyang?
Anyone knows how many PV are there this year?

                Luanee:

                Vacancies for PHPS previous years:

                2009 : 78 for 2B, 79 for 2C
                2008 : 73 for 2B, 75 for 2C

Thanks for the info, anyone know how many PV this year? Thanks

The figure for 2012 is even worse. Only 28 vacancies for 2B and 27 for 2C. How to ballot like that? That absolute priority for SCs is all crap! Govt may already have done their calculations beforehand. It doesnt benefit SCs at all. Disappointing...

It is paradoxical that the govt is constantly encouraging S’poreans to have more children yet the number of vacancies available are shrinking by the years. Not to mention the no of classes are being trimmed each year to prepare for single session. Going by the demand of schools, the birth rate seems at a healthy rate!

regarding this Theory policy of \"absolute priority for SC\":-
need to find out from 2008, 2009 until 2012 todate (in a short span of 5 years history), within Phase 1 to Phase 2A2 itself, how many SC vs PR inside ?

issue is: how to obtain detailed breakdown of citizenship figures ?
how to make Pei Hwa school & MOE release these figures ?
at which point in time did the figures suddenly soar ?
is it really due to an increase in SC birth rate, rise in new SC convert, more condominum built or otherwise ?

Pei Hwa is not the only school affected this year. A number of other schools are affected as well too. (eg: Rulang, Henry Park, Nan Hua, Nanyang, ACS Barker, etc)

we need actual figures to ascertain & determine whether going forward into future - Absolute Priority for Singapore citizens need to be implemented across into Phase 1 and Phase 2A1 / 2A2 as well, besides affecting Phase 2B, 2C and other phases.

Actually implementing SC priority seems to be creating a worst scenario than not implementing it. PRs use sibling platform to get in phase 2a. Sigh… .
