All non SAP schools have HCL offered to students from p5 onwards. Sme may start at p4, but officially should be p5. You will be recommended by the school to do HCL but even if you are not, you can still opt to do HCL at P5.Thanks again vk2010! :rahrah:
For non SAP schools, can students still opt for HCL from P4 if they want?
Does all non SAP schools offer this option?

Hi mummies,
If my child fare badly for HCL during psle, will her overall scores be pulled down by the HCL paper?
Also for the additional point to SAP secondary school, my kid has to get at least an A for HCL to be entitled to the extra point? If she gets a B, that will means no additional score to any SAP secondary school?
Thanks. -

HCL grades is either distinction (3 points), merit (2 points) or pass (1 point) which can be added to the PSLE score for SAP sec school application -
Hi All
My son will be heading to a SAP school next year, his primary care giver (me) is a chinese helicopter having been educated in a mission school. Very grateful if any parents can give me any advice on how to prepare my son mentally for the chinese culture shock when he goes to P1. How to cope with HCL? Can anyone confirm if P1 will take English and Chinese as 1st language? I am very very anxious .
Thanks much -

Hi,
What makes a sap school? -
I think sap school difference is they offer higher Chinese as their basic Chinese class during their lessons… Correct me if I’m wrong… That’s what the staff from a school told me…
