public toilet seats... do you let your kids sit on them ?
-
hi I just want to check with mommies here if you let your kids sit on public toilet seats ? I remember having to wipe the seat clean first, then put dettol sanitizer and wipe it again before allowing my son to do his business. Now that he’s older, I dont go toilet with him anymore and I don’t expect him to clean the seat by himself.
Mommies, do you have any advice for this, especially those with girls since they have to sit whichever "activity" they do…
what do you do ? -

I did what you did - wipe the seat clean first, then put dettol sanitizer and wipe it again. But my child is still young, so he gets to go into the ladies with me for the time being.hi I just want to check with mommies here if you let your kids sit on public toilet seats ? ya when they are young, they can still come toilet with us. It’s good to know I’m not the only one "sanitizing" public toilet seat. I can tell that to my hubby who thinks I’m a clean freak.
If other mommies has other solutions, please share your tips. -
1. flush the toilet
2. wipe the seat with toilet paper
3. flush the paper away
4. line the seat with toilet paper (2-3 layers) before letting my son sit on it
I did not carry sanitizer with me, somehow did not cross my mind bec it was like >10 yrs ago. -
thanks for the details Pinky
I guess sanitizer became really popular only recent years -
For dd1 she goes to the squatting type toilet. Usually there’s one but if not then I will line the toilet seat with a few layers of toilet paper, I know not very green but I can’t help it and let her use it. I will clear everything.

No no no no no no no?
Anyway, why not just hover above the seat, rather than sit on it.
We have had builders in (for nearly six months), and they have been using my bathroom. I insist my wife cleans it thoroughly before I come home, as it was her selfishness that instigated a costly refurbishment - with filthy strangers (oops, I mean builders) milling around my home…rant over -
For younger kids, not easy to hover.
