By the way for parents with kids in IP taking Air level in future. This is my 2nd experience. IP in Sec is play play. They must start preparing for Air level from JC1. My this kid actually complaint that it might be better to go through Orange level. For parents with kids who are genius, please ignore my comments. -

Just to share a feedback from my kid after the Math paper. There was a question that my kid took a while to solve. However, after the exam, a classmate who went through the \"orange\" level path told my kid that the question was a \"typical difficult Add Math question\" at \"orange level\".
My this kid is not extremely smart but is gifted with \"elephant memory.\" My immediate feeling was why this top IP school did not expose the students to such standard questions at Sec? -

Surprising. What I understand from another parent ...under RP all Orange level topics will be covered + some simpler topics under Air levels. -
Hi Dharma
All topics will be covered but not the TYS for orange level. Doing TYS is very important for Air & Orange level for most people though many smart kids there don’t need to anything and will still ace everything.
Doing TYS will expose a kid to all "standard difficult" question types and they can approach the question in the shortest way without going through the basic principles. That is how those that gone through the orange path will have an advantage.
However, IP also has its advantage - ability to think out of the box. IP students adapt better to solving questions that are "non-standard". An example is a question where the function is broken into different types for different ranges of x. Orange level students will face more difficulty for such question than the IPs.

Thanks atutor2001. Agreed that TYS is impt for major exams. Only a handful have the ability to do nothing much and still able to ace in everthing. Having said that, there are many who may just appear to be doing nothing much but go on to do very well.Hi Dharma
