Shichida Right Brain Training - Discussion
-
Hi,
As Mrs Khoo from Shichida mentioned, which I also agree.
Children below age of 4 are not encouraged watch TV programmes or cartoons.
Shichida, Heguru and many others, only uses computer screens, tvs, iPads… as a tool to flash to their students.
No parents in a right frame of mine would only use eflash cards only.
As a parent you should read books with your child, play games, and many other activities. -
Hi,
I sent my sons to Heguru, I asked the sensei about the eflash card, they do not encourage eflash card. In the class, there is no eflash card, but they play the audio for speed reading, song, super flash with physical flash card. I agreed that eflash card is no good for in the kids esp their eyes, but i have limited resources of getting physical flash card, so, I am trying to get eflash card, unfortunately, rightbraineducationshop.com is not available in Malaysia now. I would like to know where shall I get more physical or eflash card with wide variety of categories?
Thank you. -

In Japan, Heguru uses video to flash cards (super flash cards) for the advance students (4 yrs above). Because it is impossible to physical flash card so fast.
To activate the right side of the brain, you have to flash 2 or more in 1 second.
Eflash card is only part of exercises used by Heguru.
There are so many more exercises you can do.
Perhaps you can ask your child's sensei?
The most important thing, for your child's success in right brain training is
parental bonding, especially at their tender age.
That is the MOST IMPORTANT!!
PS: E-flash cards are not bad for your eyes. Kids spending hours watching cartoons is worse. -
Thanks Mishasha& jamiebrandon for the kind sharing…

Hi Girls!!
Just for your knowledge about flashing cards on computer monitors.
A lot of people have negative perceptions about TVs and computer monitors when concerning children.
But the reasons are mostly not applicable with today’s technology.
In the old days, old TV sets and computer monitors (big chunky ones, known as CRT - cathode ray tube - monitors) produced a lot of radiation, but today’s LCD monitors does not have any radiation.
Old computer monitors had low refresh rates, which causes eye-strain with some people if they have to gaze at them for hours.
Today’s monitors have much higher refresh rates, and when flashing e-flashcards only require sitting in front of the computer for a few minutes at a time, not a few hours.
TV itself does not harm children, but the CONTENT that you should be more concern about.
Programs like those on the Cartoon Network have rapidly changing images which bombard children with stimulation, and watching such programming for a long time may desensitize them to other stimulation, leading even to attention deficit disorder.
So e-flash cards for babies or children are OK.
Hope my comment answers your Qs on computer monitors or TVs. -
Hi, I'm a Shichida parent and looking for flashcards materials for my son.
I came across the website http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com
Can anyone tell me if the eflashcards from this website can be downloaded and printed out? I will prefer to make physical flashcards for him rather than eflashcards.
Appreciate your response! -
This is a long thread dating back 2008.
Just out of curosity, does anyone know the evidence to show that card flashing to young kids helps in their brain development?
Are there any local studies to show that the group which have undergoned the training turned out to be academically brighter than the group which did not? -
Hi Princessze,
The http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com is only e-flash cards.
I have also join this website.
Before I join, I used to buy shichida tensei materials. It's very ex!!
So I decided to DIY my own self. It's just too much time wasted.
I am a working mom. So I find that rightbraineducation.com solve my problems.
They have more than 10,000 flash cards. And they are very cheap!!
You should consider joining them. So far I feel they are the best. -
Hi All,
After I sent my sons to Heguru, I started to search for eflash card due to limited source physical flash card, i found http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com and i felt so happy that it consists of >10,000 flash cards. Unfortunately, http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com is not available in Malaysia since June 2012, so, I have to either buy the physical flash cards or DIY the flash card. Ends up i decided to DIY the flash card due to limited source of buying the ready made flash card. I agreed that it is really really time consuming to make flash card, luckily i have my maid to do for me after i print them out.
I tried the flash card using computer, but i found that my sons didn't really interested on using computer, they prefer I flash them with physical card. I noticed that if i flash them with physical card, they hear my voice when i read it out, they see my reaction and there is interaction between my sons and me. But, it use physical flash card, the pronunciation must be very accurate and clear. I think it is depends which method your kids work the best.
