Thanks for your advice. Sorry i have been very busy and have not checked the log in for a while. I have checked out Brighton but its very ex. Its about $750/- for half a day session and the fees is already after subsidiy. Where is this Bethesda school you mentioned? Will they take in tots like 18th months? I am also thinking for Little Skoolhouse (the east branch near siglap). Any comments?
Thanks

Just to highlight , Bethesda is a kindergarten ...so it is only 3 hours of school per day, whereas Brighton & Little Skoolhouse that you mentioned , are childcare centres where you either have a choice to leave your kid there half day (usually 7am-1pm) or full day (7am -7pm)
Of cos if you opt for childcare(CC), u need not send your child at 7am ( i know most parents send their kids in around 8-9am ).
So if you are looking for CC, Bethesda may not be right for u
Bethesda has 2 sessions. 815-11.15AM or 1130AM-230PM. Bcos it is only 3 hours per session, the Principal & teachers will \"advise\" that you send your child in punctually but of cos there's always room for negotiation if you have legitimate reasons why u may need to send your child in later.
Bethesda is along Frankel Avenue but accessible via Siglap Plain or Siglap Road (depending on which direction u r coming from)
I stay very near Little Skoolhouse as i stay near Opera Estate. I have been to Little Skoolhouse (it is within walking distance) but i have my reservations abt this school/cc hence i decided to sign up with Bethesda instead (just a personal choice i guess)
Let me know if you need more information. Do you stay near Siglap / Kembangan area? -

Hi Maisy
Thanks! My mum lives in Bedok and my mil is in eunos. Hence, there is no problem for either one of them to travel to Frankel. My daughter will be at my mum’s place most of the time while my mil helps to fetch her to and from school and send her back to my mum’s place. Perhaps, can you give me the url, tel number of bethesda school? Can you also share with me your reervations about little skoolhouse? i dont mind sending my daughter to school even if its for 3 hours session.
Thanks!

Here u go Bethesda Katong website :

BTW I've PMed you on my opinions re Little Skool House - you may wish to check your Inbox
I read that u r keen to let your daughter start in the afternoon. In that case u may wish to get the 11.30AM-2.30PM slot if u r keen on Bethesda ... However, please bear in mind that Bethesda accepts only kids from 3 years old & above.... so you may need to look elsewhere if u need your daughter to start now, unless u don't mind waiting til she turns 3.
Cheers

Hi
Any mummy check out if there is any preschool for child turning 2 years old next year (2010) with the following criteria?
Flexicare or child care
Afternoon 2 - 5 pm (or any late afternoon timings)
2- 3 hours per session
2 -3 times per week
East Area
I understand childcare is usually for 5 days, if I take half day in the afternoon.
Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

Hmm you didn't specify which part of East u looking at (cos east stretches all the way to Tampines/ Pasir Ris) but i take it that you mean East Coast Road...
There's one at Cresendo building , along early part of Upp East Coast Road? By Crestar. Can go twice or thrice a week sort... can't provide much info as i do not have it...guess if u r keen, can always go there & enquire yourself
I was going to suggest SHBTB but that is daily (not what u wanted) This is round the corner of Fort Road... -
Hi Kittybin,
So far, there are 2 schools i've visted that has flexi of 3 times a week - Shaws at Mountbatten(beside katong shopping centre) and Bestcare Montesorri (Margate road - near Meyer Road).
I think both are pretty good, just that the lady at Shaws can't seem to provide a little more description of what they do at the school, saying that at this age, it very much depends on the daily actitivies. But, I quite like the teachers I saw, and the things that they did at the school - they were doing some cooking, and the teachers looked warm and loving, and full of energy.
Bestcare Monterssori - great teacher, we dropped by without notice, and she was so nice to bring us through the school and run through the cirricullum. The very small teacher to student ratio was a draw. But there was some construction going on outside the school. And the school was a little old. the fees are a little steeper for this school. abt 95% of the students are from expat familiies.
Hey Maisy,
I would also like to know about the reservations you had about Little Skoolhouse...
there is this new branch at mountbatten, super new, only 2 students in the half day PM. Great environment, but fully aircon (minus point).
thanks!
