      LOLMum:
aint all the registration info of the students private and confidential?

      easily obtainable? wow.....!
in this internet High Tech computerized age where many people are computer technically savy, once you're able to assess information readily, nothing is confidential (P&C).

While I understand the stress of all parents (been there twice), look at her post again.

She said she has a very good friend working in moe who happens to be very close to one of the vice principals in scgs and obtaining the list of children who registered in scgs is very easy for her.

Isn't there something wrong here? Do u see it?

This \"very good friend of hers working in MOE\" may possibly be his / her spouse or a friend / relative who is a Principal / Teacher (HOD) / admin Executive staff working in MOE with authority. This person can then request / obtain info from the VP in primary school.

          When there's a will, there's a way. Didn't he / she state:-
\"I shall move heaven and earth to ensure that every single child's parent's are investigated.\" ? This person is fighting for his / her daughter's right staying < 1km he deem fairness.

yup, but as a MOE staff, you can't divulge such information to outsiders. P1 Mummy has already given clues to who the people are. These people can get into trouble legally, which i'm sure she is very well aware of since she works in the legal circle.

What she can do is to request the relevant people to investigate. But for her to obtain the info (e.g. IC#) from MOE for herself to conduct investigation -> it is not right.

\"once I have the list of children's names and birth cert numbers it is just a matter of 1-2 weeks work at the most.\"

So is this friend going to ask for the info from the vp as a personal favour or official basis?

Officially, what reason? Suspect all kids who registered are giving false info? Who made the accusation? All these must go onto record. Because if I am one of the parents who is being investigated, I would want to know all the whys especially if I have done no wrong.

Personal favour? Didn't this abuse of power?

Moreover the parent also said once the names and birth cert nos of the children are in her hands....what does this mean?

Wow, private n confidential info logged with school can be leaked to any Tom, dick or Harry that easily?

P1 Mummy is already hinting openly to SCGS school management to start investigate this year's batch of Phase 2B / 2C applicants within 1 km.

for all we know, perhaps she already know of someone intending to cheat. This forum is just a tool used to highlight case(s), drive home the message hit it hard, catch those culprit(s). According to what he / she said, there is nothing to fear for those applicants genine residing < 1 km.

P1 Mummy is not just hinting only. She is saying she will obtain info and conduct investigation herself (or to be precise, get her own ka-kia to do).

I think the point LOL Mum and myself is driving across is that she can't obtain this info and conduct her own private investigation. She can lodge a protest with the school (should she fail at 2C) and let the school handle.

Indeed there is nothing to fear for genuine applicants, but none of these genuine applicants would want to be tracked / investigated unknowingly. They can sue MOE for divulging personal info to unauthourised personnel.

Alternatively, P1 mummy can make a mental note of those successful in the balloting and then trail them herself. :rotflmao: :siam:

                    if that is the case,

Then all the more she should write to the papers + school and make a police report if she thus know of a cheat.

But then she can't do so right? Cos her info were obtained illegally.

if she report to police directly, the case is initiated by her.
but if she trigger / alert SCGS school management to start investigation via comments posted in this forum & indeed cheaters are found, then police report will be initiated by the school.

if you are in his/ her shoes, which situation do you prefer ?

2012 (water dragon) is a turbulent year for SG.
besides City Harvest case, sex scandal of 48 men involved with underaged teen, ex SCDF case, etc. soon we'll be hearing P1 Registration cheating cases reported in newspapers.

                        .

from what u said here, the scenario is ...

Yes, parents like u and I will probably call school to ask, prompting school to investigate n she sits back and watch...none of her business, it is between like you and I + the school...well, I can only say 好一个借刀杀人。
