I may be biased but i understand that church contributes alot to the schools they are affiliated with so would nto the members of the church feel it is unfair to them since they in part have contributed tot he school if Phase 2B was removed?

Again, I wonder if people are sayign this liek the article posted because the lady could not get in the chocie school. If that school was not Ai Tong, would anyone be complaining if they could not get in to a school 3 mins walk away?

The alumni are the very reason why a school is popular now. If not for the alumni who studied hard while they were in that school and got good results, the school would not be popular in the first place.

GRL does more than these…sorting out neighbour issues, patrolling around the estate to look out for suspicious people like ah long, plan events for the zone…almost doing full time work (more than 40hrs)…

Without the members, there would be no clan/church/society. Without the clan/church/society, these schools would not exist, much less teaching the values of the clan/church/society which made the schools popular. Don't forget where these clan/church/society schools came from in the first place.

Grassroot leaders on the other hand, are supposed to be helping MOE convince the grassroots that \"every school is a good school\". They should lead by action, not words. Hence, they don't need P2B.

In order to convince public that \"Every school is a good school\", Education Minister should give orders & instructions down to GRLs to LEAD by EXAMPLE, first.

only if this Command is issued from the very top and is being obeyed & practised by all GRLs, then this slogan \"Every school is a good school\" start to have meaning. Otherwise, this slogan remain meaningless & public simply treat it as \"one ear in, next ear out\".

Regarding clan, churches - these are the fundamental building blocks of the school itself. They are the ROOTS for the school. We cannot abolish them. However, clear transparency must be provided to public, how many letters are issued by clan / churches & on what basis they have been issued for Phase 2B applicants. We need detailed breakdown info.

Would parents be convinced that all schools are equally good if GRL really choose only non-popular schools for their kids? So what if the school is popular or not, does it mean the school is good and bad?


Are we really sheep that we will follow whatever is the trend or school of thought?

In selecting a primary school don’t parents look at the school and own child and decide if it’s a match?
