My niece is in a normal sec school and her schedule is also rather punishing. It could be due to the CCAs that she took up.


Maybe ask the kids to take up low profile CCA but then would it be difficult to accumulate pts?

i thought so too, but some of my friends' kid after getting good PSLE results and got into good sec school have to work even harder, stay longer hours in school, school holiday also need to go back to school for CCA, weekends tuition continues and those get in via sports DSA have to train 4 evenings a week ..... i was like :faint: after hearing it....

Art, technical, CCA. All these are subjects which take up time.
KSP, I agree with you. If the child gets reasonably good PSLE results and attends good sec school, time is spent on these activities. Does the child have time to get homework done? Friend's son in Sec 1 spends long hours supporting either tennis team or some other group.

Hi Augmum,

My DS (Sec-1) goes home at 12.30 on Fridays (except when he needs to stay back in school for group projects), as he does not take up any merit CCA. He stays back in/ goes to school twice a week for his core CCA (Wed & Sat).

So, apart from Tuesdays (3rd Lang) and Wednesdays (CCA) when DS comes home about 6+7+, he is home rather early (3+4+) on most days of the week (Friday being the earliest about 1+)..
