Aiyoh :slapshead: .....caring for a child is not only first 6 months leh.

Can consider increasing the childcare leave up to 12 years? Get the kindergarten curriculum regulated (en route to pre-primary preparation) and provide free pre-school public education? Free basic dental and medical for up to 6 years of age?
      :goodpost:

That, is practical and feasible policy to encourage \"nation building\"..

16 weeks maternity leave for mothers

6 weeks paternity leave for fathers
10 days childcare leave for each father & mother up to 7yrs
5 days childcare leave for each father & mother for child from Pr 1- 6
Employers adopting more flexi working hours arrangements
        More school based BASC
Higher subsidy for infant and childcare (can only foresee fees going up with their push to get better qualified teachers)
All assistance or benefits extended to married parents should similarly be extended to single parents. No discrimination.

              You wish ah, latest news.

These are my suggestions that I hope will materialise when my kids are ready to start their own families.

I done with childbirth liao mah. I run my own business, so childcare leave also very little impact for me. So can afford to be patient. πŸ˜‚

Good suggestion! This is definitely more practical for us working mothers than 6 months maternity leave with the option to take another 6 months unpaid leave. It is nearly impossible to keep the job when you are back from maternity!
