Hi Champion
My boy.used to carry heavy.bag climbing up & down 4storey at the holding. He dared not leave the books under his table as the ft will scold. Now at this new premise, I saw many of them are leaving their heavy textbooks under their tables, including my son. Now his school bag is very light but he has to climb up 5storey everyday as the lifts are for teachers and students running errands ONLY. -

I will like to suggest that you get him this file from Carrefour with many compartments so that he can put in all th hws and notes and carry the file in his arms to lighten the weight on his shoulders. -

Thanks lim 72 for your suggestion. after he forgotten bring home his art file once, he now prefers all essential stuff in his bag. He now carries a hand carrier where he packs in his social studies stuff, library books and stuff he can afford to misplace ie easily replaceable. But still his bag is heavy.Jedamum

My gal’s bag is manageable so far…she left her maths textbook in school most of the time, and I think that is okay, so long as she is coping fine. Seriously, the textbooks are really pointless once they grasp the basic concept. But I tell her to bring her Chinese textbook daily as she needs to refer them when she did her assessments and chinese worksheet. In fact, the load of the bag are mainly due to the worksheets and notes. and I also get her a separate carrier to file those documents - that help to ease the bag load. As for books for silence reading, I told her to bring thin magazine…leave the thicker books at home. Afterall she can’t possibly read much within 10 minutes.

I must be dreaming. How I wish all the primary and secondary schools kids are using ebooks and doing everything on tablets. I think this day will come but don’t think it will be any sooner. I read that Korea & Japan primary schools are using them on trials .

My boy school dual session, so only the lower primary kids who shared their classroom get to leave books under the desks.
My boy said no magazine allowed for silent reading.
We like the concept of only bringing one chapter of material per week instead of one whole term. Tempted to tear out his math and chinese textbook chapters. -

Both my DDs - P4 and P1 have this separate files where they put their homework sheets, loose worksheets and those notes...But both do the same thing -- put the file into the bag! :faint:Jedamum
