If you own a HDB, will HDB query how come you are now staying in another house instead of your own HDB? :scratchhead:

Hi Hi
Can I just check is this for registration for child born in 2008? hehe... I m new here so am abit lost.
I see so many parents getting ready and I'm still dun know what to do. :slapshead:
Would like to check if my hubby outstation quite often and I stay at mum place with my boys when hubby not in town, can I change my address to mum's address (is it ok to do that?) and enrol my boy to a school that is within 1km from mum place. My mum has been taking care of the boy since was born and even after going to full day CC, we still go back every night for dinner. The CC is also near her.
I dun intend to enrol boy near my place cos I would need mum help for his meal before and after school and fetch him to and from school, etc so it would be good if I could get a place in the school near her.
Pls advise as I m really lost as what I suppose to do. btw, the school is Kong Hwa and as from the past history, I can see that the chance of going in is slim even at Phase2C (1km-2km). :?:
Thanks in advance

I believe the right avenue to go about this is to have the statutory declaration that your mom is the primary care giver and then you can use your mom's address instead of your own. Don't think changing your address to your mom's is the way to go. Don't want to get into trouble of lying and having your child thrown out of school should they accuse you of wrong doing. -
Can anyone share with me experience with allied educators at Tanjong katong Primary School and Ngee Ann Primary? Are these schools supportive when dealing with children with special needs such as mild case of ADHD?
-
I think the the more appropriate question would be to ask if the child would be able to strive in that particular school environment. If the child is not overly disruptively active in normal class and can cope with adequate attention span, i think all teachers would be supportive. However, given that some schools are more academicaly focused, this child may be "disadvantaged" in that the teachers may not have the capacity to help him/her much due to just the sheer number of student in each class to mind. It all depends on how much the child can cope. I suggest you recce the school environment and compare to the child’s ability before deciding which is the more appropriate school.
I have seen a child with severe ADHD in class and she went around every 5 mins screaming in class , hitting her classmates or just walking around the class the entire lesson. There is only one teacher in class with 35 kids. It was a tough challenge even for the most caring and patient teacher. -
Hi all! My son was born 2008:) he is Catholic so under 2B but we are still nervous going forward:(
:yikes: -
checking onemap and according to that, HPPS is the only primary school that is within 1km of me. Fairfield, Nan Hua, Clementi, Pei Tong and MGS are all 2km away! Considering the events in this years intake at HPPS its going to be tough. Can anyone advise what are the chances of doing PV at the others schools being over 1km away?

My feeling was the same as yours and I was contemplating to move <1km just to grant for balloting and the chance is little. I cldn't believe why being a catholic and we have to go thru such a pain to get God's child into a catholic sch. So, I decided to call up the school. I'm more relieve now and I drop the idea of moving house after talking to the choice of schools.Hi all! My son was born 2008:) he is Catholic so under 2B but we are still nervous going forward:(

Call up the school of your choice to find out more... -
I think it is the same situation. We are methodist but getting into a methodist school is very tough too esp if youhave a son! lol

The girls sch does not affiliate to the boys sch... imagine we have to go thru twice of such stress if have DD and DS.
The church always remind or encourage us to place our kids in Catholic sch and we wanted too but the current system is just tough... some parents already shy off w/o trying... -
I have a girl born in 2008, and we are PRs. I am sending emails to the schools to ask if they have a PV program.
The only school <1km to us is CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace. I am concerned though as we don’t go to church, and we are planning for a second child and if it is a boy we need to go through all this again…
I am looking at Keming and St. Anthony, but not sure if even I joined the PV it is sure win.
I am hoping that if we fail in 2B, we can get a place in 2C with CHIJ or Bukit View without balloting… I am not sure which one has a bigger chance…
Then if everything goes bad luck, I am thinking of Lianhua in 2C supplement.
My problem is I don’t know if I should PV at CHIJ to ensure that my girl gets in the nearest school, or take a gamble to PV at Keming or St. Anthony, and finger crossed for CHIJ in 2C.
Anyone can give me any ideas? I am really stressed these days…
