straffan23:
I'd like to find out if any of the PS in Bt Batok has Aikido as a CCA?
Last checked in 2010, nope -
SCSS:
Appreciate input - wat s the chances of < 1km for PEPs in 2c ?
Hmmm, u asking for less than 1km?
everyone stands a chance for 2c... Even if it's goes to Balloting..... For less than 1km -
XEK3:
What do you think of chance for PEPS for 1-2km?
R u comparing kmps within 1km n peps 1 to 2km? Past records peps has balloting within 1km. This year's peps vacancies looks promising n with the SC priority, it looks like there may be possibility that 1 to 2km of peps may have chance to ballot. But this is just my guess. Your risk with registering at peps is that if alot of SC staying within 1km register, u have no chance at all compared to kmps' where u still get to ballot.
If I am in your shoe, I will check with peps on the noon of last day, how many SC within 1km have registered. If there are still vacancies for 1-2km people, compare the no. of seats with kmps phase2c total vacancies. Go for the one with higher chance. Bear in mind that u r taking a risk at peps as SC within 1km who come in to register on last day have potential to crowd u out at 1-2km.
Good luck. -
Hello everyone, I am new here and new to this country. I have just moved in hillview. I am currently a PR. I need to register my girl into P1 next year, but I have no clue for the schools at all. The only one school that is within 1 km is CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace, but I don’t go to church and not sure if this is good for us. Other school that is within 1-2 km are mostly too popular for PRs. So I think I only have options like Bukit View, Lianhua, Dazhong. Can anyone give me some advice? I do want to attampt PV if it is an achievable better option. But I dont even sure if I can or how to apply PV for the schools… When do they accept PV applications? Any constraints?

Jadamum, thanks for you advise. Seems like I should registering on the last day to see better where I stand. Will the school reveal the no. Of SC applied if we called?

when is your kid due for registration?
Bukit View and Lianhua is popular with PRs. not so with SC, so phase 2c registration for PR shouldn't be a problem....u can use this year's registration statistics as gauge.
to apply for pv for any schools, u can start off by exploring their website to see if they have any application form. or u can call them and go down to fill in a form. -

My kid was born in 2008 so she is due in 2014 for registration.
I am thinking about to be PV for Keming, as I feel it a better school. If I failed at 2B, I can still try CHIJ or Bukit View at 2C. But as Bukit View has produced some good results in recent years, I worries that it will get propular.... CHIJ is said to be a branded school so I am also not sure.
I just don't like Lianhua, as I went through their website, I don't see a clear vision of the school or what kind of values they want to build in the kids. I also see comments from other parents that Lianhua is putting a lot of pressure on the students.... Is this true???
Well just my own feelings, need to study further about all these schools.
I want my girl will have a more relax style of study.....
Which school do you think fits best? -

I have the impression that keming is pretty academic.
Chij have affiliation sec sch if u want to consider it as a safety net.
Suggest u check out the ksp parents networking thrread of the respective schools to read more about it. Parents of existing students should be able to give u a clearer picture. -
