I didnt ask. I was told the queue is about one year's waiting time. Not sure if it's because it's in demand or lack of supply? But when it comes to implant, time is of essence - as my bone mass may decrease then got to do bone grafting - more cost. So after weighing the pros and cons, decided not to.
the waiting time in NUH dental faculty is more due to available time slot by the students rather than the high demand there ..... they got to spend more time on the books than attending to dental patient

rather trust more in experienced professionals than a rookie when it is something in your mouth to last

Anyone knows difference between filling and root canal? Doc din use x ray

only thing I know is need to go another 2 times. Actually she has a abscess on her gum due to infection early this mth. Bro her to School dental two times but dentist just fill her other cavity and ignore that tooth. Probably cos DD rather fearful. My fren recommend a family dentist so we went. Thought he is gd with kids but not actually. And his charges are pretty high :moneyflies: She has done first part of the root canal but I thought of changing clinic. Is it ok for other clinic to continue the treatment? :?:

My dd, 13 years old, did her braces under an orthodontist, Dr Tan of Embrace Dental, early this year. Personally, I found him to be very professional and reasonably priced. šŸ˜„ Have to book appointments in advance as his business is very good.

A typical dentist may not do braces. I think it is better to go to orthodontists as they specialise in braces. They are better equipped and definitely more experienced.

                  hi ecyh75

Winth had posted earlier that the doctor she went to was Dr Hinly Lau of LQ Dental at Novena Medical Centre (Square 2).

I am gonna get DS to pay Dr Lau a visit soon. Luckily I saw winth's post from your post. Also thought I should wait till DS was older to correct his jaw issue but after reading this, better do it asap to avoid surgery. Blessing in disguise that you included winth's quote in your post.

                  Thanks!

                  Hi Cherrygal/Winth

how were your treatment with Dr Lau? Can share with me?

My gal is also a confirmed brace case..I was seeing Dr Geraldine at Paragon (Smilework) and she recommended upper braces for her in Oct this year after end of of her P4 SA2. Her charges quoted was $2500 (for upper braces) excluding x-ray, extraction etc. I am wondering if this is the norm charge range, or are there cheaper option? Also, shd I seek 2nd opinion and see if I can delay the treatment later (she said I can choose to delay treatment 2 yrs later after her PSLE, but that might mean she would have to do teeth extraction or do both upper and lower jaw depending on the growth of her teeth and jaw.

The grandparents at home do not approve the braces as they think it is just cosmestic surgery and not justifiable. They think it is not a matter of life and death issue, so no need to spend $$, time and the agony (for my gal) over it. But I think every parent jus wanna to have their child to be as perfect as possible..and I think the distorted teeth are making her difficult to brush and keep them clean..
