      Hi Yellowbelt,

Maybe too many popular Sch around there. For example, Tao Nan, KH & etc. I will definitely try CHIJ Katong but looking at the past 2years chart, P2C need balloting. Im also outside 2km, i think we shld standby a 2nd choice. Good luck!!!

        Hi,

Chances should be high as I checked with the school itself, she was telling me last year there are balloting only for those outside 2km, sometihing like 39 applicants out of 35 vacancies. With the new ruling of PR and foreigner, should stand higher chance. So your child also enrolling this year? Good Luck!

Although its registered under Bedok, which I don’t understand why, school is in Marine Parade. like what reginalcl says too many popular schools here. Tao Nan, Tanjong Katong, Ngee Ann, Haig Girls and CHIJ. The first 3 are co-eds school so I guess it’s more popular. Left with Haig Girls and CHIJ, apparently I heard that its harder to get into CHIJ from friends. Not sure abt that.

Comparing CHIJ and Haig Girls, more parents would pick CHIJ becos of its affliation to Katong Convent Sec.

Thks for your analysis, I will prefer CHIJ more, cos it is a convent school. But will still take other schools into consideration for secondary.

Juz that some parents take it kinda of an \" insurance\"...
btw, most ave IJ katong kids would continue with its sec sch......

Totally agree, don’t hv to go to the secondary school. As what Augmum says, I notice alot of their capable students go to another secondary school. I’m hoping my older girl would fare better. Tho’ the secondary school has its well-known reputation, the school moulds alot of journalists; newscasters; actressess.

I was an IJ girl throughout, in my time the standard has dropped a little. But there’s this saying "once an IJ girl always an IJ girl." we continue to hv a camaraderie no matter how old we are. We’d not hv the energy to scream when we’re old but may raise our walking sticks. Heehee!
Nonetheless, all the best for the coming registration. Hope to see you all in the school.
