WHY need to sell the power station??

Is the govt so poor that they had to sell critical infrastructures? Rather sell power station then to dig into reserves?
How to do that? (see bold above)

Other than Temasek making money by selling our power plants, is this supposed to create competition and make utilities cheaper? Or is it going to be an oligopoly situation where consumers are still at the loosing end?

That's true. But being privatized also means they are free to sell it off, isn't it? 🤷 It's strange our garmen doesn't seem to worry about such things leh...why har? 🤷

In term of economic trend, our gahmen actually don’t have a thinking of their own. If other countries are liberalising their telcos, then Singapore will also do so. If other countries are liberalising power companies, then they will follow suit.

If bankers are paying themselves obscenic, unjustifiable compensation, our gahmen don’t think that it is immoral and they will follow suit by pegging their pay to these bankers.

But if other countries are making progress in human rights, they start scatching their head and try to portray it as dirty words.

Limlim, T-Czar, I dont think we will know in our lifetime. After 56 years, probably take another 28 years to re-calculate and update.... so unless Marty McFly and Doc Brown take us forward..... doubt we will ever know ( maybe I dont even wanna know :siam: )

Strparent, I know la. But the way tuition_czar replied really tickled me. To me, tuition_czar is the very serious, non-nonsense type.
