My son is also fed up of getting homework done. He is unlucky in the sense that his load of homework is due the next day. For some non-core stuff like xi3 zi4, I help him. Stuff like compo and comprehension is HIS. Project is daddy's work. Still giving project :faint:

last night , daughter still doing project work till 11pm.. wonder why teachers still dishing out projects at this time.. why ah? 🤷

My son had gone to his classmate's house to get 3 projects done..hope there isn't anymore. There is really no time now for any more projects.
Have you try giving feedback to the teacher? Prelim & PSLE already so near.

Been so stressed reading all the posts so went MIA for awhile. Wow, there sure is alot of postings since I last visited here. Hope all the kids and parents are well prepared.

I’m not sure if I am. For sure DS is under a lot of pressure and I think I need to loosen up.

I am under stress too...been getting panic attacks more frequently.
Sometimes, it is better not to read too much. I try not to count the days towards PSLE.

Hi anyone's DC has finished prelim oral and can share what topics are tested for picture discussion or conversation?

I have shared earlier when my dd finished her prelim oral before mid July. For English, the topic was recycling for both picture and conversation. That caught some students by surprise. Sorry I do not know the second English topic. For Chinese, the topics for picture were carpark and supermarket.

May I ask is it common for oral marks to be full marks or close to full marks (like deduct 1-2 marks only)? Thanks!

Janet, if I were you, I will talk to the teachers. I will also check if the teachers have dished out the projects before the June holidays and it is just a case of students not completing them. My dd has a music project (which she describes as a minor project). The project was assigned before the June holidays but todate, they have not made their performance. So she and her classmates are still practising during recess in school.

I also tell my dd to complete all her non core subjects work (eg art) in school and do not bring them home as homework. 😄

Surely stress is building up…my dd just completed her mock prelim exam yesterday. Some of her classmates cried after the Maths mock paper. Haiz! We will have to face the results of mock papers early next week. Now trying to prepare for PSLE Oral.

Jia you mummies and PSLE kids!

alng, that happened a few years ago too. Many of the girls were crying after the prelim Math paper, including those in the top class. The good news is, when these girls sat for the killer PSLE Math paper later, they were all very calm. I suppose killer papers were no longer a shock to their system anymore.

jtoh, you mean in 2009? I know difficult papers will get the students ready for challenging papers. I am hoping for not too easy papers this year. 😄

My DS is only having his prelim oral starting this week… The school is concentrating on composition recently, doing average 1 - 2 compositions per week. The form teacher, an Indian teacher has been writting samples compositions and sharing them with the children. He keeps reminding them to use pharses. Even last Sat when they were back for extra lessons, the teacher was going through pharses and telling them high marks will be given if more pharses are used.
