Asia spending billions on tutors: study

trump cards may still be around, not all who gone to GEP will score high high in t-score, and some who stay behind refusing GEP or just mainstream may still trump the GEPpers who have left for GEP schools. We are supposedly a tuition nation and it will produce results after spending thousand and thousand of dollars in it
PH's trump card oredi left for GEP ... think it's gonna be bery hard to achieve that now.janet_lee88:
I need to top up my supply of EYS American ginseng to cool down...PH hasn't produced top PSLE student yet...but I know that genius will be from top classes.
In the meantime, this mummy here needs to brush up her English...and contribute MORE to the tuition industry
My colleague said don't need son to go HCI, can qualify BPGH and he'll treat us liao.

Giving him chrysanthemum and barley. His tuition costs $1800. Sponsors for birds nest are welcomed though  -

The COP for Bukit panjang was 245 last year. This year could be 250 to be more secured.

i thot I said i won't comment much but i felt the need to :skeptical:
nice.. if pple shy away bcoz of fear of being insulted or embarrassed, the forum will slowly bias towards a view where all opinions are \"politically correct\"..... which is something I hate to see..limlim:
I will not because of all these stop posting my opinions here. If I feel that there's a need for me to voice up something, I'll do it.
I recalled someone mentioned along the line of.. 3 years ago, the forum is peaceful and nice.. until recently it wasn't peaceful anymore.. like hinting some undesirable elements are not welcomed here.. causing negativity and disturbing the peace.
If everyone with \"unconventional views\" were to leave or refrain from participating..
Maybe \"peace\" will restore as desired by some?
A peace that is detached from the ground..
I started reading KSP with the sole intention to find out more on the education/schooling. As I surf, I found myself chuckling over the humorous and witty comments from some old ksp members.....tho at times, too much 'rubbish' :stompfeet: cos gotta scroll thru' too many pages for info. Then, I got attracted to many other interesting discussion - there were different views/angles/insights etc. There were disagreements but members presented their varied viewpoints in a very positive manner...
So for many months I was a silent reader (except ranting about PILs  )
....until I noticed there were a lot of personal attacks, bashing/sweeping statements & negative postings and it became rather 'inbalanced' and unfair. :frustrated: I could not take it and decided to be 'HERO' & voice out my view. But of course.....once stand up sure kena also. :lightrod: Probably each and every one of us will at times, feel so (kena). While u dun want KSP to be 'politically correct', I dun want it to be 'politically incorrect'.
It's boring if everyone holds the same view, just jokes and nothing to learn from each other. But KSP is interesting.
Personally, the peace I want is a place where there can be healthy discussion, no deliberate manipulation, less toxic and finger pointing, and of course more responsibility in what we say..... otherwise, KSP would be no different from the other online forums. So I do believe each KSP member has a responsibility to help prevent this from happening. :please:
yes quite a number of used-to-be regular ksp members have quit or don't bother anymore due to excessive amount of negativity and toxic postings, baseless accusations / bashing of teachers / schools / MOE
nothing wrong to be unconventional in viewpoints. but something is wrong with people (no one needs to self-acknowledge here) who likes to post negative things without processing in their head first whether it is true or half truth or outright nonsense which can't withstand being challenged
sooner than later people will be tired of it
out of the hundreds of thousands of parents with school going kids, the active members here are just a minority, be it (1) genuine negative experience with kids' education, (2) genuine positive experience with kids' education, or (3) members who just intend to cast aspersions with no other motives.
-

If the T-score is neither here nor there kind [230+ to low 24x] then more headache cos don't know where to apply to in this part of the island. -
Apply where your child can be the big fish albeit in a smaller pond.

BPGH IS a good school, no need so far.
May not be next door like Pei Hwa, but still good.
Within the zone (where you guys are) still..
And not easy to get in oso leh... 245... waaahh.. :please: -

Well.. perhaps you can share what are some examples of \"deliberate manipulations\" & \"toxic postings\"?

Repetitive sweeping statements aren't genuine oversights leh. :slapshead:
It could be a genuine oversight.. right..? Not everyone writes \"very carefully\"..verykiasu2010:
to make a sweeping statement (and frequently) without being pointed out as untruth will eventually render most info on this kiasuparents.com as mere gossips, even when other useful may be around.
I know, people usually does not like to be challenged
They are sweeping. :frustrated: At times, wee too often.
Sweeping statements are misleading. Especially for parents who are new to the education system.
So from now onwards, write carefully hor.
limlim:
Sharing experiences yes.. welcome.. :hugs: Teacher bashing, not nice. :spank:And, for \"teacher don't teach well\".. well, 1 of my kids teacher is like that. We just share our experiences. You can't prove that it is untruth isn't it? of coz, sweeping statements is not good, but I am quite sure most reader don't read it as \"all teachers are like that\" (sweeping statement).. right? or mebbe.. YMMV........
1 teacher who didn't teach in your child's school and another one in j's school and ok another two from another person's school does not equate to ALL teachers don't teach or all schools not good... that's barely a fraction as compared to the great ones around.
Teaching ain't an easy profession. What more when parents are getting more involved, more intelligent, more kiasu.. Some parents can't even handle one child.. or their own child(ren)... and yet parents still scream when teachers don't teach values or moral education to a class of over 40? :skeptical: -

so story must end here.
What I feel....you may not....and vice versa. Since it is a feeling, I may be right, I may be wrong and you may interpret it totally differently from me. Already there's too much 'chemistry reaction', I dun wanna be ็ฝชไบบ (sinner) and create more trouble. ๅค่ฎฒๅค้๏ผ ่ถๆ่ถ้ปใ Peace yah
