the few sec school principals that I interact with told me this (rationale for SBGE ending at sec 2)

      1. non-GEP / late bloomers would have caught up with GE kids by sec 2, so called leveling up. GEP / head start advantage is over. the rest are hard work / smart work

      2. if by sec 2 they are not at similar (note : not necessary identical) level of understanding or progress, then it just means they are of different/\"lower\" level of academic ability šŸ¦† :siam:

      3. there will always have a small minority who are truly truly gifted and are the \"outlyer\" in the normal distribution curve, they are out of the curve

in the pursuit of success for their kids, some parents just missed the critical due diligence and believed every thing in print or in cyber space

I am always critical of those centres that boast of who who who studied with them ..... it may be just for one subject for one term ....but they claim all the credit. the real credit should be the kids themselves (hard work) and their school teachers & parents who provided the support and environment

I actually disagree with the first statement. From my experiences, really gifted kids cannot be caught up with so easily.

In Secondary 2, one GEP guy forgot to bring a calculator. He ended up doing Taylor series to get the trigonomical values. Plenty could learn Gaussian Elimination without much difficulty. One even solved Schroedinger's equation on the whiteboard, stunning the teacher in the process!

No, I'd say that most \"late-bloomers\" don't catch up with the truely-gifted kids. By the time they learn algebra, the really gifted kids are well on to the next stage.

They do catch up with the not-really-gifted slackers though, that much is undeniable.

Base on the above quoted in red.
Then, I better teach my DSs algebra now.
Just kidding, I still not that KS yet, unless they're interested to learn from me. šŸ˜‰

I pity his mum - being used as an excuse for his lies. Honestly how can someone forgets or don't remember which Primary school he attended? Did he thinks we r juz born yesterday or we r juz too dumb?

I graduated from my Primary school more than 30 years ago & still can remember the 2 primary schools I went to.

Wow... i can still remember which pri sch i attended, colour of my uniform, my first few days at school, the dirty boy sitting infront of me who pee at anytime of the day, i was a prefect, cca, blah blah blah..... I also graduated from my pri sch more than 30 yrs ago. Since i remember so many things, i must be a super genius. My mom didnt tell me. I guess i know more than my mom as i attended the sch, not her!

I wasn't suprised that the newspaper played a huge part in contributing to his high profile success. He was featured in the newspapers a few time and whatever he said, it was published without any question. He wouldn't have landed himself in this hot soup if he hasn't over step his confidence that the Education Ministry wouldn't rebut his claims. Reminds me of Durai from the NKF. Now that the truth is finally out, I am sure alot of parents are angry with him, after paying all those high tuition fees. This explains why, taking a leaf from my old bad experiences, that I am always a staunch propagandist to parents to personally check on the credentials of the tutors who will be coaching their children. If any tuition agencies or centre act sheepishly and suggested otherwise, you will know something is fishy lurking underneath. Good tutors are like GEMS. When you are lucky to have one, make sure you don't give them away. They are usually booked months ahead.

If parents do not share GEMS, I would not have known about the tutors for all children's enrichment lessons. I must thank parents who have been generous in KSP.

Actually he is very daring to do it in the public. I wonder where he is from. All these years no one really uncover his \"secret\". Surely during one of these public interviews, one of his classmates must have seen and say \"Isnt this guy attended XYZ Pri Sch with me, sitting next to me, and catching the long kang fish after sch with me?\"

Surely, someone would have recognised him as a pri or sec or uni classmates, etc. Really strange, i really dont know where he's from.
He probably got caught up in his own lies and when no one outed him his lies just grew bigger and bigger. I would love to interview his mother to see if she really told him he was from GEP and that he went to ACS.

Agree with you, as a parent, sometimes at a loss of what to do, KSP has been a blessing. There are really many generous parents in this forum!

No point interviewing the mother. Most mothers will try to protect their children. May be the mother will \"act blur\" too. His father told me that school is ACS and we change because he got into GEP.

Then interview father. The father will say.... my mother tell me so. The grand may have dementia by now or may not be around any more to be interviewed
