711mum, is your DD feeling beta now? Weather still very erratic  so hope all our children are drinking plenty of plain water ๐Ÿ˜„

It's end of Term 3, week 6 and next week will be a short week -- Mon & Tues full-day, Wed 8-10am only, Thurs NDP, Fri is school holiday in-lieu of national day :rahrah:

Week 8 - starts of DD1's CA2 exam ๐Ÿ˜“ Mon-Wed then non-schooling days on 16 & 17 due to PSLE Oral exams. Then continues with the last CA2 paper, Science on 22 July 2012 :nailbite: :nailbite:

DD has been coming home around 4.30pm everyday and complaining there are so many homeworks! ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ข Din really have the time for any \"formal revision\" as she will fall asleep on the living hall sofa after dinner :snooze: :snooze: Guess she is too tired

Good morning Champion and Club 2002 :hi5:

Thanks a lot, DD is recovering well except for that frustrating lingering cough, hope it goes away fast.

Our DD has the same exam schedule. Agree with the amount of homework given, can hardly find time for revision particularly this term, so plan to make good use of the coming short break for revision with bits of play time in-between. The longer school hours and tons of homework are causes of kids' tiredness ๐Ÿคท . These days, I am learning to balance priorities lest it become causes of DD's burnout.

                    Dear All,

I need to travel urgently on the date of my galโ€™s oral exams. Will be bringing her along too. However, was told by T that her language papers would then be pro-rated. Anyone see issue in this ? Am i subjecting her to uncompetitive edge, bearing in mind that the raw score of SA2 will form 40% of her end year results. Your kind advice pls. Thanks

                      champion,

i think if your girl is already attending tuition centre, at least she has some form of revision weekly.
past few weeks i had to randomly check my boy when he was studying in the room as i found him dozing off on the bed with the book on his lap ๐Ÿ˜“
although tired, when he can afford the time to go to bed early, like 9.30pm, he will choose to ask to play tablet games (which he only gets to play once every few days when he is free) until 10pm.

                      CNS,
the school willnot consider to give her the test first on other topics?
i think u better do a rough calculation...see if oral component basing on her usual performance, is it worth to pursue this...if the difference is minimal after pro-rate and will not likely cause her streaming/class placement, just let it be lor.

No, for confidentiality reasons, the school refused to let her take the test earlier. Am in a dilemma. Have done a rough calculation. Is a 4 marks difference as she is stronger in oral. Should I forfeit the air tickets ( SGD 550) or give up the 4 marks ?
