Hi leelimc,Hi BeContented, Daddy_psp,
Thanks for your responses. It helps to clarify somewhat.
Now I am wondering if my DS outcome is unsuccessful by 3rd Aug, what will happen to him? Even out of waiting list ? :? Guess in a few days I will know.
Haiz......all the stress. :frustrated: I really prefer a straightforward Yes or No. :slapshead:
Fully understand how you feel. Just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Good luck. -
What an exciting day!
For those with WL, congrats! It's almost time to pop the champagne...that is, if NUSH is DD/DS's first choice
DD was on WL last year too, so we can share our experience.
1)If DD/DS is on WL, the online system status will be reflected as 'pending'. So if you see 'pending', that means you are on WL. DD's status was 'pending' too last year, and we found out that = WL.
2)If you get an email from NUSH saying you are on WL, you will get an invitation to the tea session/preview in SNAIL MAIL. You can either wait for that and rsvp as instructed, or rsvp via the online system. both are fine.
3)When all CO/WL are finalized for all DSA school, you will get a DSA option exercise form. If NUSH is your preferred school, just put it as first choice. From past history, it's 99.9% confirmed that your WL will get you into the school. DD was offered CO at NYGH, and WL at NUSH. She put down NUSH as first choice and was given a place when PSLE results were announced. Nothing to lose anyway, as in the case that NUSH rejects you, you will be given a place in your CO school, even if you put it as your second choice.
4)On PSLE day, along with the results slip, those participating in DSA will get a slip of paper confirming the school they've been posted to.
I hope that clears the air and calmed your nerves.
In any case, for those who've made up your mind to come to NUSH, welcome to the road less travelled! :grphug: -

AWWW....I was rooting for you guys! IMO, NUSH is one of the few schools that give kids who are not 'exam smart' a fair chance, with no preferential treatment given to GEP students...but it's ok. One thing I learnt from DD's DSA and PSLE experience last year, NEVER let your child feel like his/her life depends on one decision/outcome, life is full of possibilities! It might spur him on to work harder for PSLE!Carefreelife:
My DS is not offered admission. How sad. We are disappointed of course. He says he would try again. He is THAT keen. I am just glad that at least we know early. It has been fun being here. Continue to have fun, the rest of you

Same here
(Haven't broke the news to him, he has been asking since morning, called me during recess to remind me to check on NUSH website.... he'd be very very very disappointed... he has been dreaming of going to NUSH since P4.... now hope dashed

For point 3 mentioned, I thought if the child is given a CO, he has to decide whether want to accept or not before PSLE commences, but not whether to accept after the result announce? -
Do the kids need to be in school uniform for the tea session or can they wear house clothes? TIA.

You exercise your option when MOE sends you the DSA School Preference Form, whether it's a CO or WL (that's before PSLE results day). And on results day, they will give you a notification telling you the school you've been allocated.
Hi tiggermum,
For point 3 mentioned, I thought if the child is given a CO, he has to decide whether want to accept or not before PSLE commences, but not whether to accept after the result announce?
For example, you get WL from NUSH and CO from school X. If your first choice is NUSH (and WL is as good as a CO at NUSH), when you get the DSA school preference form, you put NUSH as first choice, and school X as second choice. If NUSH has places, you will be allocated NUSH. If not, you will be allocated to school X, which is your second choice, and the allocation will be known on PSLE results day. Clear?
In the meantime, let me dig out DD's old form and scan for all of you to see... -
Doesn't look good. The link to accept the tea session has disappeared and status still showing as Pending. :scared:

Not to worry, the snail mail invitation will come. Same thing happened to us last year!
btw, any ksp know how to upload pics? I was unsuccessful on my first try, and tried looking for the 'add to post' button as directed, but couldn't find it any where!
