Hi Alng,
Thank you for sharing with us with great details. I really couldnt imagine the stressed that you been thru ESP both schools are the top schools! You must have done a lot of work in preparing the PV form. It's a great blessing that your ds understand all the efforts that you and dh have put in!
Just to clarify, the application that you have submitted for school b before you apply for school c is it the Parent Support Form? As I'm very confused that how do the school b knows that u r keen in them whereby we are only allow to register once for our child in 1 school.
Kindly pls help to explain more... -

Not parent support form. It is application form for wait list. This is not within the P1 registration phases. You can download the form from some of the schools' website. With this form, the school knows I cannot get into the school but would like to be put on wait list. The school will only contact me if it has a vacancy after the P1 registration ends. As far as P1 registration is concerned, we can only register for one school.Hi Alng,

Hi, if that's the case, is it better to be staying within 1km when applying for pv at the desired sch?Dear rainn_77
No worries, I have benefitted a lot from this forum, and we are all here to help one another. I'm also learning myself cos' I have a DD going to P1 in 2014 as well
As to PV being like job hunting, it's not exactly uncommon, for myself, on top of filling up an application form, I had to draft a proposal on what areas I can contribute to the school. I still got rejected by the school anyway  , but thank goodness I was accepted as a PV by another school . Like Lilfeets had mentioned, it'll be good to send in your application to the various schools you are considering, so as to be able top give yourself more options for PV.
One of the factors you may like to consider is the balloting history of the schools as well. Some schools require balloting at Phase 2B already, so if you are not within the 1km range, chances are, even if you clock in more than the stipulated number of PV hours (do note for some schools, it's more than 40 hours), it's not a 100% guarantee you will get into the school. But from the looks of this year's registration, the 4 schools that you have shortlisted are not over-subscribed at Phase 2B, so if you are able to secure PV for either of the 4 schools, and clock the hours required, your chances should be quite safe.
