Yahooooooooooooooooo! We got our first bronze from table tennis in 2012 and our 3rd olympic medal we have ever won!!!!! :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah: 🕺 🕺 :dancing:

      Table-tennis women's single: Feng Tianwei

Her Asia and World ranking is 8 and her opponent's is 6. So it was a good personal win as well.

          News update from ifeng.com:

It seems there are changes to this year's rules of the games that had caused unexpected tendency of one facing one's own teammate as opponent. I don't really understand how this could be the case as we also see this in table-tennis. Still trying to find out more...
          Round robin matches has problem.

I for one agree with IOC's decision .
The spirit of games should be maintained. When one manupilates rules to gain undue advantage, it is not sportsmanship. Misplaced patriotism I feel.

O dear for ding ning… I wish Li could have given her a hug… afterall, China wins both gold and silver… So sad to see it as a fight for personal glory.

Moral of the story among top rankings…there is always an element of luck involved once skills have reached the pinnacle range…

Yessssss!!!! And it was a short game too! What a win! A single win for Feng! Congratulations!

Incredible. She deserves every ounce of the medal. It is a win not just for Singaporeans, but for all those that believe in the never-say-die spirit that Feng embodies. Watching her tremendous effort to come back in spite of the odds in her previous 2 games gave me a most heart-warming feeling. What a gutsy girl!

Well-said, Chief! The grit and determination she showed during her previous 2 matches was exhilarating! Many high quality rallies during the 2 games.

:salute: to Feng Tian Wei :udawoman:
