      Hi Mummies and Daddies…

I am planning for my child education and intending to shift my house to be within 1km to some good schools.

At the same time, I do not want to overstress my kid, thus I hope to get into a school that is not too 100% academic driven.

I heard that some school will only tell parents that their kids are not doing well and ask them to get tuition aid to help the kids, and if their results still do not meet the school standards, the school will suggest the parents to do transfer.

How is Aitong like on driving the kids on academic?

Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary has 108 Vacancies and 118 Registered under Phrase 2C. Being one of the 118 who registered, how do i get to know the results by 7 August? I was told it will be by mail post, do i get the mail by 7 Aug? Anyone knows?

Out of the 118, what is the breakdown of the SC who registered (assuming you are one)?

          <1km
          1-2km
          > 2km

If you have this breakdown, you will know your chance.

Sadly i am under >2km as I didn't opt for AiTong under <1km due to the limit seats and high possibility of balloting...

But I saw on MOE website:
From the 2012 P1 Registration Exercise onwards, when balloting is necessary in a specific phase, Singapore Citizens (SCs) will be given absolute priority over Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs). SCs and PRs will continue to be eligible for the same phases, and all applicants will be admitted if the total number of applications in any phase does not exceed the number of vacancies. However, if the number of applications exceeds the number of vacancies in a specific phase, SCs will be admitted first ahead of PRs, before home-school distance is considered.

I am a Singapore Citizen, so do i get a better chance now despite under 2km?

I think you are as good as in. At 11am yesterday when I called Kuo Chuan, I was told there were 77 SC out of the 101 applicants. Don’t think there would be extra 31 SC joining in the last two hours…

According to one mummy in the kuo chuan thread, all SC got in. PR balloting for the 10 slots.
You can call the school to confirm. You should be receiving the confirmation via mail soon.

Confirmed with the KCPPS. All SC got in regardless of home-school distance.
